You know the ones... those cheesy names like love muffin or pumpkin...
For the guys, what does your girlfriend or spouse call you, if anything?

I never have used nicknames and my girlfriends and now wife have had a problem with it. In fact, I actually wrote a question about it a year or so ago. It was something like, "Girls, would you have a problem if your boyfriend/husband called you by your name and not a nickname". They have always used typical nicknames for me but I have always called them by their names, with the exception of a, "Good morning gorgeous" or "Hi, sexy". But yeah, they don't like that.
I didn't realize this was a "Girls" question. Yes, they have always used a nickname for me. My name is Theodore, so my wife calls me Teddy Bear or usually just Bear. My middle name is Rockford, because I was conceived in Rockford IL, so a girlfriend called me Rocky. I didn't mind at all. I think it's cute when girls use them.
@Wallythewalrus it is for both girls and guys. For girls what do you call your guy. For guys what does your girl/wife call you. So all good and cute with the Teddy Bear!
@Wallythewalrus I didn't realize it either! My wife calls me the typical "honey", my last girlfriend called me "Sawyer" because I am a huge fan of the book Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.
My lady and I decided to intentionally saddle each other with embarrassing nicknames very early on in the relationship. I call her Tubby, pretty much exclusively, I think I’d have to be legitimately angry with her to call her by her real name, lmao. She used to do that annoying routine of “oH mY gOd, I wEiGh 105 pOuNdS, i’M SO FAT!”, so she got hit with Tubby, lmfao. But I’ll always remember the smile on her face when I proposed it, and she said “I like that.”
She calls me “Snuggy”😂 This was before those blankets with the sleeves on them came out too, I feel like the “Snuggie” brand owes her some royalties, haha💰 I think she more calls me “Snugs”, but I notice she says “Steve” more often if she calls me from another room. If she’s concerned or bothered, it’s probably “Steve”, but if she’s in a good mood and just wants to tell me something or to come to her, she’ll say “Snugs.” I also answer to “S. N. U. G. L. I. F. E.”😝
Tubby is an asshole thing to say. Why don’t you call her Slim? Because that’s exactly what she is.
@love_conquers_lust because it’s supposed to be ironic? Like calling someone tall “Shorty”, or someone short, “Stretch.”
I see it. Flip the script. What if she called you Uggy for how ugly she thinks you aren’t while you called her Slim. Timing and context, right? “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence.” “Brevity is the soul of wit.”
@love_conquers_lust Haha, well, she actually frequently calls me Snuggy-Uggy, if that counts for anything. I think you’re thinking deeper on it than we are, but I definitely appreciate the dedication to the science of comedy👊
And here you might have thought it was just some rhyme, right? Now how you going to look at her? Devil is in the details.
I find the more I speak plainly, simply, honestly, and truthfully, the more they believe everything I say.
In Germany, I would say "Schatz" - I don't like such "cute James" like rabbit or something else. Doesn't sound like a grown man. But some women like that. I don't know what is regular in English. And when. After a date or only in a relationship? Some wrote "babe" to me and I don't know what that mean. Is that for a friend or is there more interest?
My boyfriend gets called, babe, sweety, baby, sexy, love.

@Chevy1_kb Do you mind if I ask you for some advice? dm me mf its okay
wife response: Yes in my culture we have a term of endearment for children and loved ones it is normally gendered. to explain I need to teach you a bit of the language. I am Moldovan and my husband is American (account creator) the language spoken is a dialect of Romanian. the terms are ica and icu the usage is as follows. take your name for example John and for boys you icu as johnicu (the pronunciation is fairly straight forward it would be johnny and then coo (like an owl)) for girls example Ariel it is Arielica (similar pronunciation ariel (hard e sound) cuh (like the first part of cousin). if names end in a vowel you remove the last vowel and apply the ica. for example anna would be annica. the translation effectively means little or small (not in relation to size entirely) when my husband was learning he asked about it and then said "so I would be (name) ica" and I said "no it would be (name) icu" he didn't like the second so it is now ica
When I'm in a relationship and we are at a point where we're very comfortable with each other, they're getting a nickname 😊. Not honey, not babe, something that relates to him specifically. I called my ex big head.. nobody knew the real reason reason hehe
I have one for an ex of mine... "She who must not be named."
Another girl, it's weird... but she's like Beetlejuice or Bloody Mary... I don't call her that... yet. If anyone says her name a certain number of times, she pops back up in my life (or tries to). I'll see her at a store at random... or she'll try to follow me on social media or will call (which I ignore).
A friend was talking about her at dinner recently. Suddenly, out of the blue, I get a Facebook notification and "__________ would like to be your friend." I started laughing. I showed him the message. I think I MIGHT start calling her Beetlejuice or bloody Mary.
I have a few good pet names for the girls I date. I'm big on creating nicknames anyway.
I usually use a placeholder name like Gorgeous. Hon. Beautiful. But I'll also use her name (or the typical shortened version) until there's a special "couples in-joke."
Well, as a male I would like to add my opinion to this question if that's alright. Well the cute nickname I would give to my wife would be - honey muffin, cuddle bear or cutie pie or my beautiful queen 👑 💖 . If my girlfriend's name was - Jackie, then I would give her the nickname - Jackie wacky
Well, I appreciate your comment
When I have a girlfriend with the name - Jackie
That will be my nickname for her
It used to be honey or Mr sexy pants🤣, now " your dog tacked on the carpet " seems to have taken over
"Yacked on the carpet "
Some I have, and some not. I tend to use a term of endearment (babe or sweetie or something) either way, but for those with a nickname, I use that a lot too.
Likewise, I've been called a nickname by around 60% of my girlfriends.
Mine is... " pappa björn " translated to English that is dady bear..
That makes her mommy bear.. 🤭🥰. Only goldielocks is missing... 😂😂
Gorgeous, beautiful, hottie, and then the names not appropriate in mixed company…😉
My girlfriend and I call each other sweetie 😊
And I think it's cute
Of course. Either change the first name a little, or for someone who always talked about what a great runner he was as a boy, I called him speedy, like speedy Gonzalez, the mouse.
His name for me is sweetheart or sweetie pie, still get the normal 'babe, love etc' but his most common are sweetheart or sweetie pie. If he calls me by my name i feel im in trouble hahaha
Yeah it depends on the moment. Generally hun, babe, love, hunny…! If we’re being sarcastic or making jokes, picking on each other, I just use what’s appropriate in the moment.
Does jackass count? I consider it a term of endearment
Not the cheesy ones.
But I do give nicknames. Cool ones. He loved my nicknames so much, even renamed himself on social media after the nickname I gave him.
If its based on their name. Only then.
I dont use "honey"- she wasn't made by bees, and neither was I.
I dont use " babe" or "baby"- she's a woman, not a child, and I'm a man, also not a child.
I dont use "Darling" or "Dear", outside of letters or overly sarcastic language, those are just cringe in my opinion...
I usually go with "love" although one woman called me "cheri" which means something romantic in French
I wouldn’t say I gave him a nickname. Because he started calling me Sweetie and then it became something we called each other
My boyfriend has a nickname for me but I don't have a nickname for him and I've looked at like two or three different websites for ideas but I didn't like any of the options they had
Babe atm. Papi when I’m horny. Bastard when he pisses me off. Sliminem when he puts on the durag
