I used to get called that sometimes when I was younger but now I might just be old. 😅

I had to mature a lot and quickly in some ways when I was a child being of divorced parents with a little sister who I had to take care of (including paying for her university tuition) since they neglected their parental responsibilities to some degree. I picked up the slack.

Had some major gaps though in maturity. I may have possessed some wisdom beyond my years but also seemed behind on other things. Was very mature in some ways and very immature in others. Still working on those gaps.

@Alwayreckles93 No problem! I think it was actually a good experience. I owe a lot of my better character traits to it.

As for her age, wow, she's 41 now! She's two years younger than me. But I never stopped and thought about it. Actually it makes me feel so old thinking about it. In my mind, she's like 30. She has a husband and daughter now; the daughter actually looks and acts so much like she did.

Its intresting how parets expect older siblings to take the parent re on the younger kids. I live ot my self I my you were young two years apart isn't that much. You were a child who deserve to play with hot wheels legos not taking over your moms job. I was 8 years old at the time way back in 2001 watching after my baby sister shebis 22 now but jeez my mom kept on having babies in her stupid mind shethinks brith cobtrol is abortion. Yeah I know stupid. I was holding bew born infant while feeding geber to a toddler at the same time. I was rob big time from my teenage years yet parents wonder why thier adult son's and daughters cut them off or want nothing to do with them. I know your struggle I was there to thats why I felt sympathy for you. I hope life is treating you well.

@Alwayreckles93 Cheers! Life's been very kind to me and hope life is also treating you well. Picking up after our parent's slack can be quite a lot to take on although I've come to appreciate it over the years.

One major mistake after I graduated from uni is that I think I tried to compensate for things I imagined I missed in my childhood by partying like a lunatic. Still worked hard but my weekends were a whole lot of blurry and intoxicated nights bleeding into each other. They were a lot of fun but ultimately not very meaningful in hindsight.

I also came to depend on alcohol way too much for entertainment. Especially over the pandemic years, it got really bad where I was drinking to the point of lunacy even at home. Just recently quit drinking completely several months ago and finding even my mind's ability to think more clearly and overall mood improving substantially.

Yeah, back in the mid 90's my mom's old new age hippy friend told my twin brother and I we are old souls. Told us we are old guardian spirits or some mumbo jumbo like that. I guess it makes sense, we have always put ourselves between people and whatever is going to ruin them or end their life

I’m still call that and I think it’s because I really do like the idea of being older and cultivating those strengths. I did a lot of growing up faster than most, I do enjoy the bingo and tea time stereotype although I’m more of a coffee drinker.

No but I'm familiar with it's meaning and though I don't remember any of my past lives or asking if times I been here I have never been referred to as old soul that's actually a very high compliment

I wish they do, but mostly they told me I was childish. Only people who care to spend some time conversing with me will see how old I actually am.

This refers to the belief in reincarnation. An "old soul" has been through many lives and has failed to reach Nirvana.
In a past life, I believed in reincarnation, but I don't believe in it anymore.

I sort of am. My parents were older and I tend to hang out with older men as they know more than I do. So it tends to rub off I suppose.
