Why she silent toward me now?

I recently started talking with a new coworker and wanted to ask her out. I recently asked her out to a movie and she said she was busy, so being disappointed of course I was nice about it and said that’s fine. Why now is she silent towards me, all I did was ask her out?

If I wanted to see a movie with a guy that asked me out and I was busy for the day it was suggested I would add that I’d be instead free on a different day. To me her reply suggests that she isn’t wanting to go out and avoiding to speak to you could be a way of ensuring she doesn’t have to admit that…. But it’s hard to know what people think so maybe just mention it to her and see what she says
