Ever since I started working at my job, I’ve been very friendly with this girl at work and she’s also quite a friendly person (I wouldn’t say the loudest person in the room but starts conversations whenever the room gets quiet). Now out of left field she started ending every sentence with boo or bae when she talks to me. As far as I’m aware she hasn’t did this for any other coworker, though I haven’t been working at my job for very long (Going on 2 months now). Is she just getting more comfortable around me or am I just as dense as a rock?

Perhaps you should take her aside once and tell her that she should express herself correctly and not use those kind of onomatopoeia and that you have a first name, just like anyone else.
I find it impolite to use terms like that and not to address you with your name. She does not leave me a good impression and perhaps you should distance yourself from her for a while.

That’s a fair way to go about it, however I don’t get bothered when my coworkers use nicknames for me so I guess I will treat it as such. I appreciate your perspective though.

LOL, I wouldn’t call her gangster but she’s all about her Brazilian culture so maybe that could explain a bit or maybe she just picked it up from some friends.

She likes you. You're her friend

Yeah that makes the most sense, I seen some other posts about similar situations and this seems to be the common explanation, I was just curious as to why someone would just randomly start using a nickname for me.

I used boo a lot when I was like 16...18... it's a term of endearment but like coming from someone ghetto or ratchet 😂😂
Don't make such a big deal of it. I guess she does like you I don't know about how much but I don't know how else to explain it sorry
