Girl, you definitely have a good chance at defending yourself against the average untrained dude, especially with your martial arts skills and training!
At 5'11" and 180 lbs, you've already got a size and strength advantage over many men. Plus with jiu-jitsu training, you'll know effective ways to grapple, throw, and choke someone bigger than you. And your ability to evade hits and land powerful punches of your own from boxing class is nothing to scoff at.
Of course every situation is different and there's no guarantee, but I wouldn't count you out against the average guy. Martial arts is all about using technique, leverage, and knowing your opponent's weak points - not just pure size and strength.
Just be smart about assessing potential threats. Avoid dark isolated areas if possible. But if things did get dicey, I'd bet on you being able to defend long enough to get away or disable the other person non-permanently.
Stay brave and confident in your abilities! As long as you've got the skills and spirit, there's no reason you can't handle yourself against unwanted advances from anyone, dude or not. Keep training hard - you've got this, girl!

If you stand and fight, I think that percentage drops. Even though you would be the better fighter, it's likely that the guy would be better able to absorb damage and keep coming, and if things end up on the ground, which is more likely to be the case the longer the fight continues, the worse your odds become.
And if you end up in a fight with a guy with experience fighting, or just a guy who is very physically fit, things will go badly for you, and if that guy doesn't hold back (such as a street fight), you could easily end up being maimed or killed. A couple of bashes to the head and you could be paralyzed or just have major brain damage.
A guy who works out regularly and is around your size is going to have roughly twice your upper body strength, and that's not anything you should discount. Hell, if you end up facing off with an average blue-collar guy who has never been to a gym (mechanic, construction, trucker, etc.), you are almost certainly going to lose.
None of this is intended to discount your skills and hard work. Look at the Olympics that just took place - they let a "trans woman" (AKA a man) compete against the women, and the first woman - who had been training for years - forfeited after taking a single punch, saying she'd never been hit that hard and didn't want a serious injury. That had to be a serious punch to walk away from an Olympic dream after training for years.
Genetics are real, and you can't depend on a person with criminal intent to have mercy on you in a fight, and on the street, you can't count on fighting one-on-one or without weapons. There's no rules or referees on the street to stop a fight.01 Reply- 16 d
Good answer. And an injection of a little reality. I don't know why women who have martial arts "training" think it is good self defense. It is a form of mental and physical discipline but, as you say, there's no rules or referees on the street. Any one's, especially a woman's, best defense is to get the hell outta Dodge just as fast as she can!

I don’t believe a guy who does not work out automatically beats a woman who does but that’s the popular trope.
and of course if the guy is small…
im not as tall as I might’ve been bc if neglect on my childhood but I build muscle easily and my bones are large as if I were 6 ft tall… I often meet guys with smaller frames who I find fragile. So def no a random guy no. But probably a guy of equal height and weight, he will have more muscle then you so you’d need to rely on reflex flexibility and cunning.

1.7K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Pretty decent. I'm 5'9, about 150 or so and do Pankration. I've won my share of fights, and lost my share. It comes down to their size, luck and your skill. It's not going to be a fair fight. There are no mats, not protections. I've gotten kicked in the head before, I've gotten slammed, suckered punched and had a gun drawn on me before.

The most important thing is to get your shots in first. You're obviously in good shape but the muscle mass of men is a difficulty to overcome. Fast and disabling is probably your best bet. Go for areas that can easily be damaged i. e knee, balls, A fast forehead butt against his face will be disabling asnd create a lot of blood, esp. if you break his nose. The fist to face type fight popularized in movies is a pretty stupid way to go since finger bones are fragile and skull or jaw is pretty hard. Stomping on the inside of his foot hurts like hell. Noise is also good. If you scream right away- yell something like "fire" it will disorient him and attract attention. I assume this is for general self defense and not so you can beat up someone in particular. That requires different strategy but fast is usually the best. No circling around each other with clenched fists. Flat of your hand in face works well and if you wind up using fist make sure your thumb is on the outside, not inside where it could break. Once committed, stay committed until he is disabled or until help arrives. Don't stop if he says "Uncle"

I mean you likely can, but it definitely won't be easy.
Not trying to be sexist, talking about basic biology, men are just simply much stronger than women on average. I'm no scientist, but something about testosterone vs estrogen. Men being able to build muscle easier. Often being taller and having longer arms and legs.
That being said, not every man is stronger than every woman; and not every woman is weaker than every man.
In a fight with a man you would have to be as fast as you can and unpredictable. Not necessarily challenging his physical force head on, but fighting in a way that he can't really see you coming. Don't let him grab you or hold you. All that stuff.
I don't really know much about fighting or self defense-either, but those would be my guesses.

Considering your training in combat sports and the physical strength you've developed through weight training, you would have a good chance of defeating an untrained opponent. Your size could also give you an advantage against lighter men, but you would still have a chance of winning even against a man of your own size if he is untrained.
However, remember that the best way to defend yourself is to avoid confrontation and dangerous situations. Martial arts should be used exclusively for self-defense, and only in situations of genuine necessity, such as when facing an imminent threat with no other option but to use force to escape.
00 Reply Jiu jutsu isn't really effective in real fights. Boxing is but only the point were you are still standing. Even an average man has probably more bodymass than you and can simply tackle you down. If you want to get good both standing and on the ground, try mma.

Against an untrained and unarmed attacker, I think you'd honestly have a pretty good chance at winning that fight. And even short of a "win" in the basic sense (submitting or knocking him out), you'd probably deter all but the most determined, as most criminals are looking for an easy victim and will give up when they see the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
00 Reply 1K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Hand to hand combat is more than just body, skills and training.
If you want to defend yourself, you'll need to mean business. That means carrying a weapon.
Unfortunately in Europe we are sitting ducks and "cucked" by the laws. In Germany for instance people including women are not allowed to carry pepper spray or unboxed knives in the public.
00 Reply448 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. It sounds like you can definitely put up a fight with your training and skills and defend yourself , if need be. You might have some struggle with a guy that is bigger than you are though but if that’s the case? Just run the other way if you can lol

What is it with you and these weird violent fantasies with random „attacking guys“ etc? If you want to work in a BDSM dungeon, just do so and drop the whole subterfuge.

Well I think against the average dude you definitely stand a chance because not only your height, but your fighting skills as well. Most people can't fight that well. Guys included, so you already have the edge in that way.
00 Reply You have a ton of experience which most guys don't have so I think you could easily, also given you're quite tall. I'm also 5 11 but a lot lighter than you with no experience so you could easily defend yourself. I think most guys just don't want to admit it tbh

Unpopular but a woman in her peak vs a man who is out of his prime, guy would still win biologically they're stronger.

The beat defense and first choice should always be avoidance.
10 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Maybe but most men have a lot of strength regardless of their size

With martial arts not a chance. Even the weakest of men will over power you. But pull out one of the bad boys below and the battlefield is quite equalized
00 Reply That would depend on your reflexes and ability to realize you are in trouble. If you have to prepare as for a match with a known opponent and don’t recognize the unknown opponent then he will win because he gets the first punch….
00 ReplyYou had a similar question before. Why not spare with an equal weight class and check it out?
Or are you wanting to be fitted against a more average type without formal training?00 ReplyThe average guy will still hit harder and is probably physically stronger. You'd have a chance at least more than most.
00 Reply- 18 d
If you're a brown belt martial artist and a boxing instructor, you'd have a great chance to successfully defend yourself against most (but CERTAINLY not all) untrained men.
00 Reply - 18 d
Yes you can. But some untrained guys can be violent. He could also play dirty. So avoid such kind of confrontation. But yeah an average guy would most probably avoid messing with you
00 Reply 697 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Depends on many variables, but you have a reasonable chance with your training. It might be a good idea to carry mace as well.

The average guy would still hit harder than your body can physically handle. If you could avoid all of his punches, maybe... but a weapon is best for self defense.
