I think it depends on who is challenging you on it if it's just some nosy person I wouldn't worry about it but if it is a true friend then you have to communicate about it to get it straightened out if you don't do that then it's just going to go you're separate ways somebody's going to be angry or hurt so get it out in the open and if it's repairable it's repairable if not then you have to move on
