Girls, is being catcalled ever flattering, or is it always a negative?

While I can appreciate someone thinking that I am attractive I don't like the catcalling because of how it is typically done. That is what is negative or off-putting about that approach. I don't mind if someone where to make an appropriate comment. I have that happen a lot as a bartender. That liquid courage really brings the balls out in guys. They are mostly kind and not inappropriate which I am thankful for. I can honestly say that I don't believe I have ever been catcalled but I do know that it happens and how it is typically done. I can't say that I have ever witnessed it being done to someone else when I have been out in a group either. Perhaps it is pure luck or maybe it is someone a thing of the past and rare. Not sure.

  Druken compllments are harmless. I know sometimes they just can't help themselves and brush it off. You have to have thick skin bartending and I have gotten used to it to the point I really don't think twice anymore.

  I guess maybe if you got catcalled in a way that wasn't scary or creepy, you might enjoy it. But I don't know how that would work.

  When I think catcalling, I think lewd remarks.
  
  Someone just saying "Oh, you look so pretty today" is different in my mind.
