I guess this one is kinda directed at women, but also just people in general. You'll meet a person who's new in your life and the initial impression is that they're kinda into you, like they at least enjoy your company, smile a lot, are very talkative and friendly and playful when you come around... I get this impression like wow, I think this person actually likes me! And then, sometimes in a matter of weeks or days, that magic has evaporated. It's just gone. That same person is like deadpan around you, has nothing much to say to you, is basically looking right through you. You feel like you couldn't matter less to them, anymore.
I don't know why that happens. If the overly friendly thing is all just an act when you meet someone new, do people just think that it's okay to just pretend to be that way for a bit and then just drop the act after a short while? That's kinda insincere. Sometimes I wonder if it's something I'm doing, or maybe I'm just not what they thought I was at first?
I guess I don't like to be made to feel like I'm somehow special in someone's eyes, but actually I'm not. It's just phony. I don't like when people are fake like that. If you're gonna be indifferent and sorta cold to people, just be that way from the start.
