What is the brutal truth about single mothers?

I don't know what the brutal truth is, I just know that I do my best to stay positive, have fun and stay on top of my responsibilities.

I do know that as a single mom, my social status has changed and that can be difficult to accept. I'm now an outlier, and even though I'm the same person I was when I was happily married with kids, I am in a different social category, whether I like it or not. Marriage grants a certain level of status within a community, and it's much harder to maintain status as a single woman or single mother, no matter how responsible we are. If we are single by choice, it's generally considered feminist and can be a delicate path to navigate.

It's hurtful when people make blanket statements about how awful single mothers are, though. I have to remember that it's their experiences speaking, and that they don't actually know me.

That most are not given the opportunity to be considered a future partner for someone else. The Mrs. was a single mother when we met. 30 years ago.

They are damaged and usually it's because they made poor life choices. Most of them refuse to accept any responsibility for it and deflect blame.

How did they not put themselves in the situation? Women are the choosers in what guys get to have sex with them. They chose the wrong guy and now they have to pay the consequences for their choice.

That is true but how can you predict that someone is gonna be a deadbeat? If it's your first child together there is no precedent to know if a guy will abandon his responsibility

99.9% of them let a weak man nut in them because they make poor choices.

Your feelings don't change reality. No matter how bad you want something to be true, it doesn't make it true.

They're children generally turn out bad with compounded issues and very problematic without a father's guidance.

They also are full of contention against a child's father , rather than reconcile the child back to they're father.
