Is it ok to be on this site if I'm lesbian?

Hi. Now that I'm level 2 I can post in sexuality! (Lol! I just noticed it wants to put this in GaG community instead.) I am rather new at all this social media stuff and can be slow to understand the dynamics. I am a lesbian. I am not ashamed to admit that nor will I hide it. But nor am I here to promote gay rights or seek a relationship or speak to just others like me. There are plenty of other sites for that. I like it here. I have been having a lot of fun and enjoy reading others opinions. But I do not want to tread where I am not wanted either. I try to treat others as fairly as I want to be treated so, I figured I'd just get this question right out of the way first thing before I start hanging around here too much. Thank you. 💖

You're more than welcome here, yes. Your sexual orientation shouldn't be a cause for concern amongst the normal users.

I'm sure you'll still get DMs from some of the pathetic, creepy guys, but just report/ignore them like everyone else does, and you'll be fine.

There's plenty of people here from all over the spectrum, and identify as everything you can identify as, so you've just as much right to be here as anyone else.

Well, no. But as I said in another post I am very new to this type of social media and how it all works and just wanted to be polite. (Maybe too much so. 😳) I figured sooner or later my sexuality would come up in one of my questions/replies and if I start to get to know people here I didn't want to seem deceitful or anything and have someone say "Omg! I didn't know you were lesbo." That was my line of reasoning, which I do admit, isn't always reasonable. 😂

Afterthought, (Which I do a lot 😂) I know on one hand my private life is no one's business but , again, if I feel like I am going to get to know someone, I like to be up front and honest about it.

Why would it not be okay? You like who you like. You have every right to be here, regardless of your sexuality. Anyway, I’m glad you’re having a good time on here. Just be aware that, like in real life, you might occasionally encounter some hate or homophobic comments. Just ignore them or use block feature. Don’t take them to heart. You do you.

Well, believe it or not, other than doing some research on a few social media sites like Reddit the only one I ever really interact with is Discord and maybe half a dozen posts on Tik Tok. Never done FB or any of those. I really don't know how all this works so, I try to be polite when I go into someone else's house, so to speak. And yes, I was raised in a barn. (Almost literally. 😂)
