What are the rules to a staring contest?

I never played a staring contest with a no blinking rule. We stared until one person either laughed or looked away. Done it at bars, never lost a single one. Hard to grab a beer while staring at a person.

In a staring contest you're not supposed to blink. I never really cared about whether the person looked away or not. The not laughing and talking thing is something different.

I can feel when I blink. Not to mention that it's super easy to see when someone blinks.

I mean the whole purpose of a staring contest is not to blink, so people put a lot of focus on it so they feel when they do.

you can blink quicker than you can feel it. blinks happen at an exceedingly fast rate. you may feel it sometimes, but you can miss it too.
