I'm not adventurous enough for my boyfriend ... is there any hope?

My boyfriend always wants to go, go, go,go. I don't like to rush. He loves adventure and excitement, taking risks and big, flamboyant things. I like comfort, security, connection and people. He can't even stand to watch the same movie twice. He puts me down a lot because I'm not excited by the same things he is. It really wears down my self esteem being told about all of my failings.

Is there any hope for us?

I sounds like you two are not compatible. If he could appreciate your differences, it'd be a different story. He doesn't understand your more grounded nature. You two could probably benefit from each other if there was more understanding from him. Don't look at these as your failings! They are just differences. You can turn around and point the finger right back and say he is too extreme, anxious, unstable, wild... but maybe you understand him and appreciate the differences more than he does. Do you go along with him on his adventures sometimes? What excites him that doesn't excite you? I think you should find someone who adores your calm nature. You should feel great about being who you are. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about who you are.
