Does it seem like my boyfriend is with me because he doesn't have too many options?

We've been together for 2 years and I have never felt the love from him that I desired. I have been mostly unhappy in this relationship. Reasons being he has mostly treated me with disrespect, he has been mean to me with his actions and words as well as he has never apologized for his mistakes. I had caught him talking to many women behind my back.

But he talks about marriage even after treating me like this and never talks about breaking up. I think I'm only his convenience and he is only with me just becoz he doesn't have too many options as his family has a bad image in his society. I think he is from abusive household coz his dad used to be a drunkard, he would take jwelleries from his mom and sell them to other people. So may be becoz of this he is kind of abusive. Anyways guys what do you think on this? Please suggest me something.

Wow did we date the same person? I recently broke up with someone who I was with for 3 years who was the exact same way. Very disrespectful of my feelings, would follow and comment on other women’s photos after me telling him over and over that I do not appreciate it. I did understand he was a hairstylist and he wanted to attract new clients but it still bothered me and he knew this and didn’t care. I snapped and ended it. He came from an abusive family as well and I made tons of excuses for him because I felt bad. You can still feel bad for him and not be with him. What happened to him as a child is not your responsibility. Especially if he does absolutely nothing to change. It will be hard but you have to slowly distance yourself emotionally from him. Please do not marry someone like this. My ex would bring up marriage as well even though our relationship was falling apart. Marriage will only make this worse and leave you even more heartbroken than you’d be if you left now.

Why would he talk about breaking up when you’re letting him walk all over you? You’re allowing him to disrespect you. Ofcourse he’s not going to leave. It’s been 2 years of you staying by his side despite his behaviour. If you’re that unhappy, leave. I have no sympathy..

It sounds like your boyfriend is with you for convenience, if he truly valued you and loved you he wouldn’t be disrespecting you and being constantly mean to you , , He just likes the control he has over you. Girls do this shit as well , when a girl starts disrespecting her partner and constantly being mean to her partner , she doesn’t value him or appreciate him , she just likes the convenience of him , Those Type of people only really care about themselves , they don’t know how to give the same way they want to receive , it’s their way or no way , you will never be happy in a relationship like that , you are best to move on from him and realize you deserve someone that treats you with love and respect that wants to see you smile not bring misery into your life. Also ask yourself if you are doing anything to cause him to act this way toward you first , before you just assume you are Right and he is wrong
