It's not that men are supposed to open the door for women or have to offer his jacket to a women who's cold it's just the gentlemen thing to do. It's fine if you don't want to, no ones making you. Personally I've lost faith in this generation people just don't have the motivation to be polite or just simply don't want to 😭. I wish I lived in the back in the good old days where men weren't have to be told to do things like this, but did it simply because they wanted to and they knew how to treat a lady.
I know right, I thought opening the door for anybody was just a good thing to do. I'm going to continue doing so anyway because it's just something you do regardless of gender lol, it just seems rude if you shut the door in someone's face.
So do I want to go back to the days where women knew their place and stayed in the kitchen, respected men and didn't insult their looks or objectify them.
Well, fine. I get that you refuse to follow them. They're simply roles, after all; you'd still choose in the end if you feel like "acting" it or not.
However, I think you'd be missing so much in the dating world because most of your points are just acts of courtesy and don't really confirm your interest to pursue a woman.
Most women still yearn for acts of chivalry to be done unto them so I think this chivalry thing is somehow done to appease women. So, men, either out of genuine interest or pretentiousness, bring these chivalrous acts alive. Thus, I think chivalry ISN'T dead.
Also, one thing: your use of "should" to all ten points made them sound so obligatory. Who obliges men to do these?

Well why should I change in order to be liked by women, and not be "me" instead?
Most do. It's hormones and that will never change. Estrogen is what make women feminine and attracted to men. Even if a woman never gets robbed, she is still attracted to and feels safe around a strong muscular man who can protect her. Even if a woman is rich and doesn't need anything from anyone, she is still going to feel protected and attracted to a man who pays for dates. Women are physically weaker than men and they're going to feel frigtened of you if you're hitting people without a really good reasons. Outbursts of anger and rage without cause are a huge turn of for women because they value safety.
I could go on and on but I've made my point. This take should be called 10 things that prove OP knows nothing about women.
You srem to be selfish jerk but... You do make a point... I mean that's true that sometimes men had to face partiality... I do feel bad for such men and i really try to understand him (when i am with one)... And i would marry or propose someone like such only... Lolz
I take the cold way better then my Husband esp. as we get older, when he's sick he turns in to a baby and I can and do power through it - so coat goes to him (I actually always bring one (even when we were dating but then it was mine since we didn't live together and he wore that, now I bring his own but he gives me a hard time and says he won't need it but he always does-lol). I think looking out for the one you love is important. In the car I always open my door then lean and get his. I also paid for more then most when we were dating and I prefer to carry things unless I physically can't. Guess who hoed our whole yard a few weeks ago... this lady!! My man fetched me drinks. I know he would and does do anything for me to (I hate making phone calls so he usually does that for me and other stuff) it never ends... you do whatever you can for the person you want forever with.
I agree with every single one maybe besides #5 (within reason)
I say this because women usually can only inflict a bruise with full strength, whereas men can break our faces. So I agree, if you're going to hit expect to get hit back, but not to seriously injure.
I used to get a little violent with my now husband (no I didn't throw stuff at his head or try to seriously hurt him) and he would give me a firm fist shove and it would set me straight, obviously it doesn't happen anymore because in my mind it's like "Knock it off don't forget if I hit you, it will hurt"
1. There's nothing wrong with being jacked or working on your body if that's what you're into. However, there's a culture there of guys that umm... tend to think more highly of themselves than they really should.
2. I have more muscle mass than most women. So I'll carry more things.
3. I have a beard, so no comment.
4. I open the door for everyone.
5. Sometimes women like to be hit. I think that's not what you're talking about, though.
6. Done that, not sorry.
7. I usually pay for dates simply because it's the thing guys do in my opinion.
8. I've never done this, and don't plan to start.
9. Normally I eschew wearing a suit for something informal. However, a good suit can make all the difference.
10. I don't care about this.

1) Yeah damn those guys 2) Those stuff aren't your own though. 5) Yeah you know what I mean. 7) WHAT? Are you an idiot to pay for anything?
1) being in good shape is hot. Being overly jacked not so much 2) Partly agree but sharing of burden is always nice 3) beards are awesome so shut up 4) everyone should keep the door open, not just men. Since this is the polite thing to do. If a person is definitely approaching a door you keep it open. 5) Violence is rarely the answer but hitting a woman in self defense is different from hitting a woman 6) nice gesture but not a necessity, though if she's obviously freezing you're an ass if you don't 7) personally I don't think so as I think everyone should pay for their own stuff unless it's too expensive for one of the partners 8) a bad prank deserves another one 9) suits look awesome and badass and like he's got his shit together. 1) Seeing 18 year old BOYS (they're not men yet, they still grow) getting jacked like a 30 year old bodybuilder, is one of the scariest things of 21st century. 3) Shut up? Watch your mouth. You don't know me. 6) Then I would freeze instead. Either her or me. 9) Even if I "had my shit together", I'd rather not look like a plant. 10) Why you have doubts of my cooking skills?
The stay at home mom expectation freaks me out too, I don't even know if I want kids and waiting on a grown man as if he's a child would just feel so wrong. Plus I'd rather not rely on another person's income if he gets abusive or we start fighting I'd have no money of my own and no way out, that gives him way too much power over me. I'd also feel like I wasn't accomplishing anything and I'm not ashamed for saying I'd rather have a career.
You don't have to submit to any of these rolls, but when you find yourself in a relationship with a woman who lacks respect for you... Some of your opinions here may be why.
Personally, I expect a man to open doors for me. It shows me that he has manners and was raised in a traditional family.
Also, if a guy ever asked me on a date, but didn't offer to pay for me, there would be no second date.
I won't let a guy pay for ALL dates because I would want to treat him as well. But it's a must that ye has a generous mentality. I think I speak for most women when I say this. Selfish guys are the worst.
@cherrymarina I just don't see why you would ask a girl out on a date if you don't intend on paying? I usually pay on special occasions (birthdays, promotions, stressful day at work so my treat) but I also willingly cook for my man and bring him full meals to eat at work... I don't mind complying to gender rolls though.
No, I agree with you. I said I like generous men and despise cheap ones. I just wouldn't let him pay for all dates, because it would be a little unfair to him. Generous guys usually don't let you pay for them, but I would do it out of respect. But I wouldn't do this for a cheap guy. Cheap guys are very selfish. If I know he has a genenerous mentality I would help him out when I can.
@cherrymarina I can be very very giving when I care about someone. I regularly leave $40 tips at the bar... so yeah, I don't like cheap guys either. It's just an unattractive quality.
Wow. I pity the woman who ever gets involved with you. Chivalry is meant to mean having manners and being polite. Obviously, if you won't get off your high horse to actually open the door or hold one for a lady, then you're just a simple-minded jerk. Honestly, this entire take sounds incredibly bitter and exaggerated.

I won't change for anyone. Chivalry isn't for someone like me.
There is a difference between not being chivalrous and being a total ass. Pulling a chair out from under a girl? Seriously? If you did that, I would slug you and feel no remorse. Just don't bother pulling out the chair then. If a girl sees you move towards her chair she will think you're going to do something nice and pull it out for her-any normal person would. To do that shows you are immature and nasty. Honestly, you're the type of person who makes me sick. If you don't have the common decency to treat people with respect, especially a girl you would consider dating, then you just shouldn't deal with people.
Oh, and regarding the comment below about how you're 25 and shouldn't behave like your grandfather: obviously his actions attracted a girl. I'd be very surprised if ANY girl in her right mind would be attracted to a douche like you... but then again, there are desperate people in this world.
By the way, if you really had any courage or truly believed in what you posted, you wouldn't remain anonymous. By that alone you are saying that you don't have the balls to admit your actual opinion and instead are posting it anonymously.
@bobbyxx I am no feminist, and believe I conduct myself like a lady. My beliefs do not center around the idea of modern feminism in that women are superior or should be compensated for ridiculous things that set them apart from men. Unfortunately, I do agree that it seems women today act less and less like decent women and more like men, or at least try to be-but that's no excuse not to at least try to be courteous. I find I am good to others unless they give me a reason to be anything else. You shouldn't judge all women by the actions of some, just like I cannot (and will not) say that all men are, as feminists call them, "chauvinistic and misogynistic pigs" simply because a small few may act in ways some women deem inappropriate.
And finally, chivalry is merely being respectful towards others (read: not just women). I can't deny, though, that men seemed to turn around after women became... well, to be nice, what they are today. Not all, but what seems to be a majority.
So what your saying is you wanna date a man. You say if women wants a fight she will get one, but im almost a 100 percent sure if a man wanted to fight you youd say "your a lover not a fighter ". Men should be jacked? What woman says this? Its men who say this. Suits are sexy, most women find them sexy and the only reason you dont like them is because you dont have the body for it.. so you say! Everything else your entitled to but i hope you dont expect women to act in gender roles either. lol

OK about the others, but I consider it wimpy PERSONALLY for a guy to pay dates always. You make yourself look like a provider.
Well l wI'll ALWAYS be a provider for her. Lol lm the type of person who is easily taken advantage of. But I'm kinda proud of that. It's just my personality.
A person who is easy to take advantage of is someone who doesn't always have their gaurd up. Someone who you can trust. Don't get me wrong l hate being taken advantage of just like anyone else; however, l want to be someone who is trusting and gives people the benefit of the doubt.
I would disagree with 2nd and 3rd, I mean if She is not man enough to carry her luggage, then I will help her by carrying her say 10% max. If She can't carry that much there is no need to take that much with you or through your makeup. I am pretty sure it will decrease weight by 30%. 3) beard is not that bad man, you should try it. It looks nice on most of boys not all.

Tried it once, and never going to again. It makes me look way older. I was 22-23 when I grew one and I was looking like being in my late 20s. Beardless I usually pass 18-20 and I'm 25 now.
This looks like it was written by an narcissistic a**hat. Get over yourself. I'm glad there are at least still a few good guys left to treat women the way they deserve to be treated. I am very saddened and disgusted that almost everywhere I look there are f**ckboys, sleezeballs, and self absorbed idiots who regularly try to take advantage of women and treat them with so much disrespect.

But I'm not a gentleman though. And i will never be one.

A person who is easy to take advantage of is someone who doesn't always have their gaurd up. Someone who you can trust. Don't get me wrong l hate being taken advantage of just like anyone else; however, l want to be someone who is trusting and gives people the benefit of the doubt.
So your a skinny guy that isn't strong enough to carry heavy objects, can't grow a beard and whats to fight women?
no wonder he posted anonymously (x
I can grow a beard and i've done it once but it doesn't suit me. I'm skinny yes, but I can carry heavy stuff if they are my own.
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
He is afraid of women. We are bad people and he doesn't want to be nice to us.
@cherrymarina I'm not afraid of anyone.
So beard adds 10 years extra to me.
Learn what narcissism is first.
Learn what a rebuttal is first before trying to give anyone advice.
Yes!! I am so happy good men still exist here and there. 😊
Very good take! I agree with the most of these things.
Especially number 5, 7 and most of all 9!!!
However pulling chairs and holding doors open is just being polite and shouldn't be done only exclusively for women but thats how i see it.
Oh yeah, I have a beard and I like it. Just my thing tho.
Good thing! I too refuse to do them because they are indeed very ridiculous.
