This is silly. I know plenty of guys (including myself) that have none of the problems of autism. Sounds like a bunch of angry women going for the same kind of guy over and over getting the same result mad they can't have what they want.
It's thanks to people like you that others deny autism is really a disease/problem. Way to over exaggerate a serious illness just to bash guys.
*outraged fingers violently hitting the keys in response to such a claim*
tbh would be justified if she actually believed her clickbait title.
Men and women make social bonds differently. This has been highly documented within psychology. That doesn't make men Autistic.
Doesn't mean they aren't either :P
If you understood autism it does. You seem to be going by a very specific definition as if you Google it once.
Did you read the Take?
Yes. It was balanced and looked into studies. Your conclusion (and title) just show you're making a jump that I think is not supported.
No, the title is in true GaG spirit and designed to make people click, because no one clicks on this site unless they're annoyed into it.
My conclusion was what exactly?
To try and understand men the same way you understand those who suffer autism.
More the other way round.
"Personally, I don't think all men are autistic but I do think the spectrum is wide and varied, to such a degree that social anxiety and awkwardness could be better understood if we looked at them in the same way we look at autism."
I took the "them" in that line to mean men as a whole?
Yeah, I re-wrote it a lot. Them refers to Autism and Social Anxiety, not men as a whole.
To be honest I just thought it was interesting...
Most of it was. :)
I'll take troll topics for $500, Alex.
Really? I mean thank you for the thumbs up, but it's kinda weird you liked my comment...
Oh wait, maybe it was because I was quoting a meme... But never the less the article is still bullshit. Not all men have autism. I do, but not every man does. At least change "all" to "many". Please, for your credibility sake.
I thought it was a funny comment, not that weird.
No, not all men have autism, I say that in the Take.
What I failed to say and regret not doing so is saying that I don't actually mean autism to be a derogatory term, I don't think less of people with autism I just think that if we accepted many people have issues socialising and integrating it may be beneficial to look at the issue from a different perspective.
The title was purposefully twat-ish.
:-) Ok, then.
Did you studied psychology or psychiatry, or something related?
*study
There is absolutely no way she studied any amount of it. She did a Google search or got this idea off of some feminist tumblr blog.
@ThatJarHead yeah, because everything is the feminists... haha!
I did study psychology but it has nothing to do with this post.
If you studied psychology then you've got to be the worst psychologist ever.
@ThatJarHead I'm not a psychologist, never claimed to be...
If you studied psychology where did you study and under what professor? I have a Psychology, Bachelor of Science degree from Red Deer College and I studied under Dr. Jane MacNeil and apprenticed under Michelle Neaves from WJS Family Intervention Services for Child and Family Services Canada under the Alberta Government. I also have a license to practice Equine Therapy and I run my own practice. If you studied it tell me what the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: 5th Edition is and what it is used for in the class room.
@ThatJarHead the DSM? it's basically a big book of official disorders. We only referred to it occasionally as it wasn't a university level degree course, it was an A Level standard. I'm in the UK and college level education is free so it isn't that surprising I would have studied it.
I studied it for a year. If you're trying to catch me out by proving you have a better knowledge it will be a fruitless task. I did study it, for a short time and my knowledge will be a lot less than yours if you studied at that level. I'm not making claims I know more about psychology than you are... but if it makes you feel better about yourself...
Anyway, generalizing is wrong, never fall into that fallacy.
does aspergers come with cheese or do i need to order something else from the menu?
You jumped on the stereotype bandwagon, tried to make it fly by sticking on cardboard wings, and now it's crashed into the ocean
👏👏
not all guys are autistic but Iv been asked if I was autistic and I don't have autism I'm just shy around people
Instead of making fun of autistic people you should be concerned for the one that could replace you in your current job position because if you know anything about autistic people like myself you know we get tunnel vision on our interests and when that happens there's no one who can do it better
Well, I guess I pass. I only fit 5 of the items on your list.
I disagree with you that all men are autistic because that's clearly not the case lol. I agree that men are more prone to be autistic based on what you said.
So hows autism going for you? Do you have someone working with you?
Jokes? Most men have a much better sense of humor than women.
so basically: i´m a man and since you´re telling me, that i don´t feel empathy, that means i don´t feel empathy? i feel offended by that.
so if you´re not trying to offend me, doesn´t that mean, that you´re the unempathic one?
What this makes me wonder about is why some women who realize that their men are autistic, seem to still stay with them, even for years, if not decades.
what i can say is that i was tested but i dont have autism. i have ADHD. i was in therapy for having too great empathy.
No. Just no. As an autistic man with many autistic friends of various genders, I can tell you you're misunderstanding both autistic people and men. Don't believe everything you read.
I went autistic skimming through this.
"Never go full Autistic"
