DISCLAIMER : we all like certain traits in the opposite sex, I'm not saying I will find someone who possesses all these traits although I've came pretty close in previous relationships.

Being a straight woman in her 20s, of course I like men but what I love more than men are MEN in capital letter, alphas, manly men, gentlemen, masculine men just like Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders that you can see in the picture above.

DISCLAIMER 2: I wanted to put "Why we love them" in the title of the Mytake because there are a lot of girls who also like manly men but NOT ALL OF US DO, we all have types.

So this is my perspective on why me and a lot of girls might like Masculine guys

They're confident

Harvey spectre / Suits

There's a fine line between being confident and being cocky but confidence is extremely sexy and if you have valid reasons to be confident it's even better.

They're powerful

Don Draper / Mad Men

Whether they started from scratch to get where they are or they always were, it takes a lot to build power and respect but it also takes a lot to maintain it.

They know not to judge someone just because they sin differently they do

Thomas Shelby / Peaky Blinders

We all sin, we all fuck up, we all do bad things but somewhat we still judge people. It takes a certain maturity to acknowledge that and not to judge.

They're unstoppable

There's something extremely sexy about people who are so motivated that nothing can stop them. Plus in a relationship it's much better to motivate each other than to bring each other down.

They're classy

They know how to dress up and as a woman who loves to dress up classy, I want a man who also does so.

They have a great taste in cars

I like beautiful classic cars. Just thinking about a 1960 Ferrari turns me on so obviously I need a man who knows his shit about cars and loves them just as much.

When they love, they love deeply

They don't just give their love/time to anyone so you know that when they do, it's for real. And they will show it to you. Expect a lot of passion.

They have a past that made them stronger

A LOT of girls will disagree with this and they prefer a man without emotional baggage, a dark past or whatever but I actually prefer someone who went through shit, who saw things, who experienced pain.

Because I did and I can't be with someone who doesn't understand me.

They're the best at sex

This is once again definitely arguable but those men usually like to be good at all that they do including sex. Everyone loves sex and prefers it when it's good.

They speak well and are smart

I love a good conversation and I can hold one, if you can't, you're not for me.

They drink the good stuff

It's not even really about the stuff that they are drinking. It's about them being able to drink the strong stuff that most people can't stand.

They will do anything for the people they love

Kind of same as the "when they love, they love deeply" but it was meant in a romantic way, this is meant in a family kind of way.

Yeah none of that has anything to do with being "alpha". Except perhaps confidence but in my experience most women can't distinguish between confident and overcompensating assholeishness even if it bit them in the ass (and it usually does (and not in a good way)).

I mean power and wealth? Your telling me Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates etc. are "alpha" in your opinion? You also think they are any thing else you have listed? Seems like you really didn't think that through.
Also caring about their family? That's not "alpha", lots of people care about their families, in fact most of the "alpha" people your talking about don't, they don't really care about any one (which is usually why they are more successful as they have no problems destroying peoples lives to get what they want (which if that's your thing more power to you, just don't be pissed off when you catch him fucking your sister in your bed (which is also pretty common with the men you are thinking of)).
Also good dresser? Cars? How many execs are car guys? Probably none. They don't have good taste in cars they just buy expensive shit to show the world how important they are (because they are insecure like that (to just hammer home that point, Bill Gates before giving away most of his money earned more then most countries, he wore a sweater vest. Just let that sink in. He was so rich he didn't need to show how rich he was).
As for intellect, well that depends now doesn't it? I mean was Einstein an alpha then? How about Georgis Lematrie? Shakespear? I mean that's a pretty generic trait and again, doesn't really fit the description of the people you are trying to present, they are not brilliant people, they may not be stupid by any means, but their defining trait is not intellect, again, its ruthelessness and the need to prove to the world that they are important by being the best in what ever it is they are doing (which is why they will work 100 hour work weeks at say a law firm even though they are already making more then enough money, simply so they can have the bigger paycheck (which also by the way kills the notion you have that they are family oriented or love deeply, or are confident really as you can't care about family if your that obsessed with your career and you cannot be that obsessed with your image if your confident).

All in all I think this just shows how little women understand the concept of confidence or being a "alpha".

Mark Zuckerberg got rich super randomly I'm sure you will find 10000000 smarter people in Harvard, MIT and pretty much any Ivy League. Bill Gates is not my cup of tea but might be related to the fact that I do not care about money as I previously stated but that I care about ambition which is why no I'm not attracted to the guy you spoke about. I'm attracted to Leonardo Da Vinci, Archimedes and other man who had the hunger and the will of changing the world and who weren't only motivated by money. Also Zuckerberg did not get rich randomly, he created a web site that people used, he gave them a service that they wanted (social media) and he created one that was preferable then others. I was pointing out that your list is based upon imaginary people that do not exist in the real world. That's why I provided examples of real life equivalents that completely contradict your claims. Also I would point out that ambition is rarely used in the service of good, and just because a man is ambitious does not mean he is intelligent or assertive (again Zuckerberg is ambitious that's why he kept control of his company for so long so he could be the one dictating how it worked who it affected, that's why he pushes for the things that he does, yet he is well him i. e. not what you described)

Hmm most men aren't entirely Alpha or Beta, but a mixture of both set of traits, and yeah, they have their ups and downs.

The thing girls need to realize about the really really Alpha guys (I'm not talking about us guys with a decent confident streak, I'm talking about grade A alpha) is simple.

I think you're living in a fantasy world. The type of man you described are almost always going to become physically and or emotionally abusive and thats not Nice Guy talk. Some if those traits are warning signs, being dominant while dangerous are not good signs.

Ouh making assumptions. I’ve been in 3 long term relationships. Two of the guys were alpha men. The first ended because he hooked up with a girl while drunk
after 5 years together, I have an issue with cheating so I had to go even though it was one time, he came clean to me and apologized a lot. The second one ended because after about 1 year together he got signed in a company in Italy and we maintained the long year relationship thing for a second year and a half. ( we did fly to see each other) but then I couldn’t stand the long relationship anymore. there's a disconnect between what women think an alpha man is and what he really is. women see it basically like you do, a guy that is best at everything. in reality, that doesn't exist. this is why so many women are miserably single. they have such high expectations of a man that they will never find him. they are often just average women that end up getting used and hating men as a result.
