Interesting how the "alpha" you describe isn't what generally gets touted as an "alpha". No blustering, no overt macho gestures, nothing that draws attention to himself. You seem to understand the difference between actually being in charge and just posturing.

This doesn’t actually describe “alpha”. This is more of a general description of successful men with certain tastes. Most men I know my age fit this category actually.
@thedivaa There aren't. Go read a few biology, sociology and psychology book! I'm not getting into another one of your absolutely nonsensical and irrational arguments. Let me guess, "science" says that alpha males exist in human society, right? No...
Dominant, confident, intelligent men exist. I call them alpha. No need science for this. Maybe you should get banged by an alpha male to understand that thyey are real? lol
@thedivaa Oh honey, that's cute. You're now making up your definition of what an alpha is. That's sweet. Yeah, 'you' call them that... and people call coincidences miracles that were sent by God, that doesn't make it so, friend. You can call them whatever you like... but you're wrong... again!
At least your nonsensical babbling was useful for something: it inspired me to ask a question on this very topic. Good job! You've now served some sort of use!
Alphas are leaders by definition, the rest are followers. That’s how society works. Now unrelated but every-time I see your picture I wonder, is it your Cheetos or painting on your beard? Or is it your actual color because it’s much brighter than your hair?
I suggest reading some actual literature on the subject because you're creating definitions and the term "alpha" stems from animal societies and simply doesn't apply to humans in the same way. Someone could be a leader and not have any of the other traits you listed. Someone could be "classy" (which is entirely subjective) and display none of the other traits. In fact, a lot of what you've listed, similar to @thedivaa here, is based on nothing more than your own view of what an "alpha" is and yet you both speak as if this is some sort of fact. It's orange UV paint that someone rubbed onto my beard when I was travelling in Cambodia.
Just to clarify, I'm not saying that the people you've described don't exist. Of course they do. I just think that labelling them "alphas" is as illogical as it is silly. Our societies are just too complex.
"At least your nonsensical babbling was useful for something: it inspired me to ask a question on this very topic. Good job! You've now served some sort of use!" It's not honorable to me to help someone I consider beta
@thedivaa I know you have your "reasons" but they are irrelevant when the word that you're using doesn't apply to humans. Not to mention that the reason you have are also related to your made up definition of the word. It's all incredibly nonsensical, friend, but I know that you're just a provocateur. You never offer anything to these discussions so they don't benefit either of us. You just make claims and then double back to "well that's my opinion", ultimately ignoring what the rest of the world or the experts in the fields think. Like with your abortion nonsense. You just talk drivel and at times its slightly amusing but mostly its just annoying, which I'm sure you realise.
You don't care if science define abvortion murder or not, to you abortion is necessary. If you don't beleive in alphas and betas. At least you beleive in dominant and submissive guys, right?
@thedivaa I'm only going to repeat this point once: Firstly, you didn't provide a single shred of evidence to support that claim. Secondly, "science" does not say that and "science" isn't a single entity. What "science" says about a completely subjective issue is irrelevant. If you can't see why then that's on you. Yes, dominant and submissive guys exist. We've had this conversation before. I explained quite clearly then that the words dominant and alpha are not interchangeable in human societies. Why are we having this conversation? You're not going to agree with anything I say.
"Why are we having this conversation? You're not going to agree with anything I say." you just admtted that talking to me for you has one purpose: to make me agree with you.
@thedivaa I didn't admit that at all. I highlighted that you're not gaining anything from this and therefore it's pointless for both of us. You don't take on board what I say, you simply express your view and tell me why I'm wrong. Therefore there isn't any point in me saying anything. That's it. And since you don't bring anything to the table under that made up shit, there's no reason for me to accept what you say... Jesus Christ...
If you're not taking anything away from this, and I'm not taking anything away from this, then we're not having a conversation, certainly not a worthwhile one. We're just two people saying stuff that's ultimately falling on deaf ears.
@thedivaa Right, but what I said is different from what you claimed I said. Once again, you're putting words in my mouth so that you have some sort of argument. The point I was trying to make is that you're not open to agreeing with anything I say. And I say Jesus Christ because I grew up around Christians and that was the best way to emphasize exasperation!
I’m not making up anything, the term originated from wolves which live in packs (just like we do in society) and there are alphas which lead the pack (just like there are in a society). Look it up.
Display shown by wolves in a certain environment and labelling them as alphas does not imply that the same terminology can be used with humans, even if the 'alphas' are leaders as well.
Human relations are infinitely more complicated, just like persona of people are infinitely more complicated than the mere 'alpha' or 'beta'.
Even the researcher who came up with the original wolf research recognized the fact that it was not applicable to humans.
@thedivaa Trust me, I've met people who are leaders who you would never in a million years label "alpha". And by 'you' I mean you personally. I mean Jesus Christ, it really isn't that difficult a concept to break down. The more we discuss this, the clearer it becomes that you're just using the word to describe a type of man who in your eyes is alpha. It's completely subjective while the actual term 'alphas' in the manner that it was originally used to describe the top wolf in a pack, is not subjective, it's objective. Also, the more we chat, the more I notice that you seem to confuse subjective and objective issues. It's seems to be the core of our disagreements.
@thedivaa It might be better if you define what a leader is... because I get the feelings that you're once again about to make up your own definition of the word. Jesus Christ, you should publish your own dictionary. "The Divaa's Dictionary of Made Up Definitions"
" I've met people who are leaders who you would never in a million years label "alpha". And by 'you' I mean you personally." So define what makes one a leader. Don't dodge. You claimed it then explain.
Should I even what a leader is? i think no becaseuy based on what you said it seems you are very sure of what I define as a leader. Sarcasm "who you would never in a million years label "alpha". so sure of it but still wants me to define it
@thedivaa I'm not dodging, I'm highlighting why it's pointless. We both know that regardless of what I put, you're simply going to respond with "well I view a leader as being..." But, for arguments sake, I'll play along: A leader is someone who can demand respect, take control of a situation, can make decisions (particularly the decisions that another person would struggle to make), is accountable for their actions, and can communicate with others in an honest manner.
Let me ask you a question: does the fact that the guy who first used the word alpha (to describe the leader of a wolf pack) stated that the word doesn't apply to humans not remotely make you question your use of the word?
Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Alpha is sued to describe those who are powerful adn are in charge. Leaders are ahead of others. They are the first. See they are synonyms. And I didn't read his comment
@thedivaa I meant commands respect, sorry. Right, so you would label such a person alpha. Would you still label such people alpha if they were submissive in the bedroom?
@thedivaa What you imagine or not is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that such people exist and therefore someone being a leader is not enough to conclude that they are an alpha, according to your own definition as stated earlier.
@thedivaa I'm highlighting how fluid your definition of what an alpha is and why ultimately it's meaningless and doesn't apply to anything more than your subjective view of the world. So as I said before, you may very well label people alpha but that's based entirely on your own made up definition.
@thedivaa I mean at the end of the day you can call them whatever you want. But when it comes to actual definitions, 'dominant personality' fits much better than 'alpha'. If you value convenience over accuracy then sure, call them alphas
@thedivaa But now you're changing your stance. Originally you were saying that this was the meaning of alpha but now you're saying that the word means something different but that when people hear it they know that it's in reference to a dominant male.
@thedivaa Right, so you're taking a term that doesn't actually apply to humans in the manner in which it was intended and you're associating it with certain personality types on a subjective level. Agreed?
@thedivaa Wow, several sweeping statements there. Firstly, most animals don't have alphas and betas. The term only applies to pack animals such as wolves, which suggests to me that you don't fully understand how the term is actually used within animal societies. Secondly, you're once again switching your stance. A moment ago you said, and I quote: "we all know when we say alpha male we mean dominant male" and "Don't you think we can call it alpha fort making it short?" and "Dominant, confident, intelligent men exist. I call them alpha."
So which is it? Are you saying that the term alpha applies to humans or are you saying that the term alpha can be used by you and others to define someone with a dominant personality? It can't be both because that isn't how it works in animals.
Wolves are animals if you didn't know. Homosexuality doesn't apply to all animals, right but the LGBT community uses it as a excuse for the anomaila. Are you against this? or you think that's a good argument?
@thedivaa "It applies to humans as well. Atheists say that humans are anmimals too" The implication of this statement was that if humans are animals then they can have alphas and betas, as if all animals do. Which is why I said: "The term only applies to pack animals such as wolves". I even mentioned that wolves are pack animals, that was the distinction. I wasn't saying that wolves weren't animals. I was demonstrating that not all, or even most, animals have alphas and betas. As far as I am aware, they use it in reference to arguments that homosexuality isn't natural. They mention it appearing in certain animal groups as evidence of it appearing in nature. In that sense I think it's a fair enough argument because they are demonstrating it's appearance in nature. I don't think that's quite the same as what you're saying here.
@thedivaa Listen, I'm not part of the LGBT community so I see no point in getting into this debate with you. I'm just telling you that that's why they mention it. After all, in this situation it's you that's trying to apply something that happens in animals to humans. Yes, and lions are pack animals, dear, which is why I said it applies to pack animals.
Its funy how you don't admit that humans can be alpha too. Because you are not alpha yourself? Men doesn't have to be exactly like lions. They are people not animals.
@thedivaa We've gone in a full circle here. Clearly you don't understand the term alpha but I'm not repeating this argument simply because you can't admit being wrong. Have a nice day!
This is a great example of expectation vs reality when it comes to the consumption of media representations of men and women. It's kinda sad, but can't say it isn't funny.

Although I chose illustration from Tv shows because I wasn’t gonna use gifs of my ex boyfriends or friends, I did base this on real experiences with real guys.
Women often seem to have a thing for guys with unresolved emotional issues. It seems to trigger a maternal instinct in you. Take care to make sure though that he is not still a child when the two of you have children of your own.

To be honest, it’s the case for me but I don’t think it’s maternal. I just feel bad for a guy who suffers and want to help.
wanting to find others who need fixing is not necessarily maternal so much as just insecurity. Someone who needs you to fix them doesn't need you to be good or likeable, only to be there forever and a crutch. This makes them easy to control. Beware of women who chase broken men. They are often far more broken themselves.
@JMghow I'm broken too so it would be more of a mutual fix situation and I don't believe in fixing anyways it would be just helping each other through life's bullshit
Fixing each other doesn't work. Fix yourself, then go find someone who isn't broken. Otherwise, you won't be fixing each other's problems, you'll be piling each other's problems onto whatever else you each have. I've seen it, I know. Hell, I lived it. I took seven years off from women, best thing I ever did. It gave me time to fix me, learn to be the me with whom I was comfortable and to reach a place where I only needed myself. From their, I could be a whole person with others I wanted to be with, rather than needed to be with to fix me (which they could never do, and shouldn't have to).
@JMghow As I said I don't believe in fixing at all. Once you're broken, you're broken. You cannot be repaired. At least not when you're as badly broken as I am. So AS I SAID, we would just be helping each other get through life's bullshit.
Bullshit, I fixed myself, and I was mentally fucked by some pretty messed up things (psychotic lifestyle, hiding from society for cultish reasons in third world conditions, mother's sexual, physical and emotional abuse, fathers physical and emotional abuse, brother trying to shoot me, constant fighting, bad divorce, homelessness during high school, so on...). You are who you CHOOSE to be. If you choose to be broken, that is on you. I am no victim, I am a victor. I won. I climbed out of that shitheap and kept going, became a man I can be proud of, found happiness in myself. I'm nothing special, what I do anyone can. Bit of advise, though: Don't be broken if you aren't happy being broken. Life's too short for that bullshit.
If you're not unhappy, you're not broken. You're just different, and that is not the same thing. I'm different, I'm even an asshole... but I'm not broken. I am whole in myself, and the integrity of my character, of who I am, is satisfied.
I personally don’t want or don’t care about any of the things you listed tbh, and I don’t understand why they’re important. The only thing that sounds alluring is the loving deeply thing.
I watch mad men so I’m aware of the existence of this scene hahaha but I only showed the images to illustrate. The only men I actually have a thing for in the pics are Harvey Specter and Thomas Shelby. Don is a sociopath and his boss has issues as well.
If you don't want people to judge others for bad things they do, you can't really judge them for judging, can you? Oh wait, I get it: You don't judge yourself for judging others for judging others for things they do wrong.
They also wear really boss suits and drink martinis after the big new ad campaign launches. No, wait, I'm thinking of the show Mad Men.

I don't think I would date someone who works on advertising or who drinks during work. The drinking is at home or at a bar. Mad Men is a great show though.
Just be you. Fuck that shit! Living your whole life by ridiculous social standards so you can be a good utility and then get dump as soon as an alimony check becomes a better option? Why? Find your own path, be happy being who you want to be FOR YOU.
You don't need to change, girls like all kind of guys, it's just my personal taste. I'm sure you're a great person and will find someone who appreciates you, best of luck <3
Meh... Even if not, that's not the point. Being loved for being something you aren't isn't being loved at all, and true loneliness isn't being alone... Its being surrounded by those who care nothing for you and with whom you cannot relate. There are far worse things than never having the fabled one. Most of us never do. Some of us delude ourselves into thinking we do, but an average of seven years turns 65% of them into bitter wise men without half their assets and paying alimony plus child support for kids who will call another man dad. Be happy with you by being who you would admire and like, don't worry about the rest. It either comes, or it doesn't. If you are complete with yourself, you'll be fine either way.
@Kkaos Nah I want to buy my own stuff and I work hard for it, I’m currently majoring in two things in an uni and working on my “free” time, I just genuinely love cars.
Fair enough. I'm always cautious when women start saying these things, but when she's got her own things going on it can be quite attractive and it makes sense. I think I can speak for many men when I say that I want a lady who wants to build an empire with me, not just one who tags along with me on my journey.

It's not honorable to me to help someone I consider beta
@thedivaa Well you can consider people whatever you want when you're making up your own definitions, right? Ya sloot!
I'm a slut only for my hubby
@thedivaa Well by my new made up definitions, you're just a slut. Since we can just make up definitions now, I don't see why that would matter.
You know why I call you beta. I have my reasons. But you just throw words.

@thedivaa Do you agree or disagree with my description of a leader?
I don't agrre with the demands respect part
@thedivaa I don't mean demands respect in the sense that he asks for respect, I mean that people respect him because of his personality and actions.
But you agree with the rest, right? So someone meeting that criteria would be a leader and therefore an alpha in your eyes?
Then thats not demanding.
And yeah it sounds alpha
@thedivaa I meant commands respect, sorry.
Right, so you would label such a person alpha. Would you still label such people alpha if they were submissive in the bedroom?
women yes, men no.
@thedivaa I figured as much. Therefore, you can't conclude from someone being a leader that they are an alpha, correct?
Tough, strong, powerful, independent men who respect themselves are alpha and can be leaders. ic an't imagine them PREFERING to be a follower

what is the right word to define what I describe as alpha?
@thedivaa Don't you feel like 'Dominant personality' sums it up pretty well?
Don't you think we can call it alpha fort making it short?
Like we should call sluts as a short variant of promisucous women?
@thedivaa I mean at the end of the day you can call them whatever you want. But when it comes to actual definitions, 'dominant personality' fits much better than 'alpha'. If you value convenience over accuracy then sure, call them alphas
Alpha is short
@thedivaa That's my point. You're choosing a shorter word for convenience but sacrificing the accuracy of the statement.
we all know when we say alpha male we mean dominant male.
@thedivaa But now you're changing your stance. Originally you were saying that this was the meaning of alpha but now you're saying that the word means something different but that when people hear it they know that it's in reference to a dominant male.

In that sense I think it's a fair enough argument because they are demonstrating it's appearance in nature. I don't think that's quite the same as what you're saying here.
Inbreeding happens in animal kingdom too does this mean incest is natural?
Lions can be alpha too
@thedivaa Listen, I'm not part of the LGBT community so I see no point in getting into this debate with you.
I know you think homosexuality is natural. Thats why i brought it
@thedivaa We've gone in a full circle here. Clearly you don't understand the term alpha but I'm not repeating this argument simply because you can't admit being wrong. Have a nice day!
What is the term alpha if you understand it?
When you hear an alpha male phrase what comes to your mind?
This is a great example of expectation vs reality when it comes to the consumption of media representations of men and women. It's kinda sad, but can't say it isn't funny.
Although I chose illustration from Tv shows because I wasn’t gonna use gifs of my ex boyfriends or friends, I did base this on real experiences with real guys.
My definition of alpha man is pretty different I guess, but of course because it is the kind of men that I love the most. 😍
I would enjoy reading a Mytake about your definition of Alpha Men girl, I love them too 😍
Does it annoy you when beta males do their own thing instead of serve the alpha?
Umm, no?
Women often seem to have a thing for guys with unresolved emotional issues. It seems to trigger a maternal instinct in you. Take care to make sure though that he is not still a child when the two of you have children of your own.
To be honest, it’s the case for me but I don’t think it’s maternal. I just feel bad for a guy who suffers and want to help.
Wanting to help is one thing wanting to live with that person to help improve them, that sounds maternal to me.
wanting to find others who need fixing is not necessarily maternal so much as just insecurity.
@JMghow I actually don't even mind being broken, I write about it and paint about it so it inspires me.
Girl lets keep it straight and simple it's the daddiness u like I get it cause I can see you twirl my doll.
Nope
I think this information can make a man a perfect man.
So do I !! ☺️
You forgot this... it's the same guy shown in the 3rd picture as well haha.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYlPhFj_3T0I watch mad men so I’m aware of the existence of this scene hahaha but I only showed the images to illustrate.
You fail to full grasp the self-centered hypocrisy of entitlement. They want it all, they want it now, and they don't care about reality or fairness.
As you said I don't judge people for bad things they do, I don't care about those who judge, I just praise those who don't
I judge the fuck out of people, it's a great way to avoid future problems.
@JMghow Good for you!
All I see is a potential power struggle for me I get along better with beta males...
I get it !
They also wear really boss suits and drink martinis after the big new ad campaign launches. No, wait, I'm thinking of the show Mad Men.
I don't think I would date someone who works on advertising or who drinks during work. The drinking is at home or at a bar. Mad Men is a great show though.
Are we talking about alpha characters here or a Hollywood 1900's stereotype?
Because i find it quite confusing after reading all that. XD
great article hopefully i will be an alpha male day 😭😭🖤🕺🏻
Just be you. Fuck that shit! Living your whole life by ridiculous social standards so you can be a good utility and then get dump as soon as an alimony check becomes a better option? Why? Find your own path, be happy being who you want to be FOR YOU.
@JMghow yeah true thanks
Thanks
Well thank You for that.
I do enjoy a nice car but I'm more into Bmws espicially from the 70s, 80s and 90s. I still have my dad's old 78 coupe.
Oh that’s amazing !
I love cars as well and especially classic ones, you should google “coopers classics LTD”
Yeah... definitely cannot relate.
But good take ☺️ Thank you for sharing💕
Thank you 💕
No problem hun
Good for you for going for the gold. Just don't be shocked if he doesn't bow to any ridiculous feminists notions you may hold.
Lmao 'Just thinking about a 1960 Ferrari turns me on so obviously I need a man who knows his shit about cars '
She's going for the gold, she's just disguising it by saying she likes 'successful' men who like expensive classic cars.
@Kkaos Yes that’s the idea, the whole “building an empire together” thing. Maybe I should have been more clear about it ☺️
If I could sum this up in a nutshell, I'd say you like successful guys (nothing wrong with that).
well I do like successful guys but also ambitious guys and I want to be successful as well so !
