I think feminism has a great part in it as it often criticizes masculinity as being "toxic".
But I also think it may have to do with the fact that this society in and of itself no longer seems to care for men being men or women being women, now you have men claiming to be women, women claiming to be men and people claiming to be hamsters.
I think unfortunately masculinity and femininity both are mostly lost in a society where you have all these people trying to deny what they are.
Men have been told to basically STFU period. That we were born flawed and it’s hopeless. I don't know where you are going with that hitting women thing, that’s not accepted by any part of male “culture.” But, as a man who does stand up for himself, paying for the first few dates is fine, but if you expect that to be the norm the whole time we are together, then being the stand up man I am, I’m calling BS. I’m not looking to be someone’s prince, I want a partner...
I don't know I dont like being taken advantage of. Im not paying for dates and using my own vitality on a girl whos just gonna go date someone else. Im not gonna prove myself to a girl. My only response - You're hanging around wrong type of men. There are stand-up guys all around, in all walks of life. I have the privilege to call some of them my friends.
The problem at hand is that society is hellbent on trying to discourage men from being men. But I've never met a stand-up guy who concerned himself with the opinions and expectations of the society.
There have been sissy boys in every generation. The differences now are:
1. It is applauded by the media.
2. The average diet is filled with hormone -laced garbage that evidence suggests lowers testosterone levels.
3. 5000 channels on TV make it easier for kids to grow up watching a screen for 10 hours per day rather than playing football, baseball, soccer, surfing, etc. all day long.
4. Media demonization of masculinity.
Others can probably add to the list.
I agree that men should pay for dates, but women can become more satisfied sexually with men putting more effort in not by having a higher sex drive. Technology is good for the world, it has allowed countless lives to be saved. Men don't know how to hunt and build a fire anymore, and women don't know how to sew clothing much either, but what need do we have of those things?
Man pays for date = the woman is a gold digging whore.

I'll never pay a woman's way again unless she pays for me first. Too many are just looking for a free meal and see a man as an ATM. Those type are only in it for the money and are a no good POS person.
