Cheating is "obviously wrong and taboo" but what about the faithful husband and father that has an abusive and manipulative wife? Abuse and neglect come from wives too!
Even though it is no excuse there just about the same women that cheat out there as men.
These people are good for a 1 time stop shop. Nothing more.
The most common reason men cheat is for recreation. It's just appealing to mix things up. They are not necessarily unsatisfied or don't love their partner to bits. Most cheating guys have no intention of leaving their partner.

Typical scenario of having your cake and eating it too. Just because they feel it's more convenient to not leave, it doesn't mean that they love their partner. I find it very difficult to believe that you'd actually do something like that to a person you truly love unless you're fucked up mentally (like a sex addict).
Most guys don't cheat. But the ones who do and have been surveyed report that it's basically recreational. It's not about convenience, for the most they genuinely care about their partner but had a fun fling on the side in the heat of the moment.
They didn't just report wanting to stay with their partner, they reported that they strongly cared for their partner and want to preserve the relationship. From their perspective it seemed like a little fun that their partner didn't have to know about and no harm would be done. I'm just feeding you the data, I've never cheated on anyone before. Although monogamous relationships do seem somewhat unappealing to me.
I'm not a cheater, and I am not here to justify cheating. But what a lot of the subject matter in this take is adding up to seems to be that perhaps monogamy often proves too difficult to maintain for an entire adult lifespan. Maybe we put too many expectations into our relationships, setting them up for failure. ?

1. Neglect from their companion.
2. Their partner stops persuing in sex.
3. Pregnancy leaves stretch marks, making her feel unattractive. Or not "sexy" anymore.
4. They want some "spice" in their life.
5. They've become bored.

How does the being horny reason not make sense? If a hot girl wants to have sex with a guy in a relationship, being horny would be a reason many men cheat in that situation.
