This guy asked me to prom over text?

Almost everyone at my school are doing promposals, even the couples that are already dating, and this guy that I've had a thing with for a while asked me to prom over text...

Honestly i figured we would be going to prom together and i'm glad he asked, but does this seem unclassy and cheap? Because that's what both my friends and his friends are telling me. When one mutual friend of ours asked him if he promposed, he said he "doesn't do that stuff". Opinions on this?

Ditch him. I'm the most introverted (and money conscious) person you will ever meet, yet I got down on one knee in front of my entire English class with a bouquet of flowers as a promposal. If the dude's too cheap to do that much then you really shouldn't go with him unless he does do something. Plus, I agree, a text is very cheap and lacks class. (Sorry to seem blunt here, but that's honestly what I think you should do.)

Well at least he asked you in person, that's a HUGE improvement, lol. He should have at least taken you to eat somewhere or something, but I guess some guys are more simplistic.

He could have done a *much* better job with the asking you thing, and still have it be reasonably cheap and easy. I would say that he might have been to nervous/shy to ask you in person, but that is about all I can say, for now. By the way, have fun!

I've been friends with him for 4 years, and we used to hang out all the time. That's why i was kinda surprised i guess
