Guys: Are you typically interested in a girl if you choose to text and chat with her before you go to sleep?

Okay so I have a guy friend who tends to text me late at night like an hour or so before he goes to sleep.

Its kind of weird but he usually starts starts the conversation off by asking or talking about my german sherperd. Yes, somehow my dog always seems to be the conversation starter but then of course we'll end up talking about other random stuff. It seems a little funny but is it possible that he is just using my dog as an excuse to start a conversation with me?

And of course the bigger question- are guys typically interested in the girls they choose to text to before they go to bed?

before bed is awesome kind of sad
when i would have to let her go to
sleep cause i'm very emotional but
