BF chooses guitar playing/practice over me? What to do?

So my long-term boyfriend (around 2 years to be presice) and he started playing the guitar for about 7 months ago. The thing is I feel like it has gotten out of control or I might just be delusional.

I asked him if he had any plans for a gift during my birthday and he said that he didn't have enough yet I saw him with a new guitar and so I did my research and found out that the bloody thing costs around 300 - 400 $! It's a Jackson Kelly or something like that.

He has several time taken guitar practice over dating and we don't have a lot of time to talk since he is often at gigs with his band which leads to another problem; There's a girl in the band and I've heard she is very flirty but when I've asked other bandmates about anything they deny the fact that they have something together.

What do you think?

It's not even the mere Cost of of the 'Guitar,' that has me playing my own tune here, it's the Principal Thing that he is Now putting you on his pay no mind no mind list And--------he didn't have enough Washington's for for Even your birthday gift. No, you're Not being 'Delusional,' but He is the one who is way out of line and 'Gotten out of control.' Nearly 8 months is way Too 'Bloody' long.
He is obviously too busy with the 'Gigs and the girl' And Just 'His band' in general. And with Not finding time for someone who he calls a "girlfriend,' I don't call a-----Soul mate. It's not fair to you, he's sweeping you under the carpet like an Ant, and he is Not taking any of your feelings Nor your time together into consideration.
Time for a compromise. Have a long talk with this Guitar Man. Tell him you would like to hear him practice a few times a week, for you are taking an interest in his band And----Some much needed time. Then you can be like this fly on the wall, and check 'Her' out as well, and see what's been playing here. Be your own judge, instead of taking every Tom, Dick and Harry's word for it. They will say anything just to keep the harmony.
Also, lay down a few ground rules as to some Alone time that you both desperately need. And don't back down with Anything. If you start to stand for This, then you will Stoop for any poop thrown your way in which you'll have to scoop.
If he hymns and haws about Any of your requests, then this is a 'Lead problem' and you should seriously start thinking about giving him his walking papers and Begin your Beguine with someone who will sing you more than an-------Alabi.
You deserve someone who can be a real boyfriend, just not a part time tune player. Tell him you are Not Whistling Dixie no more, these are the '8 simple rules,' take them or leave them.

This is a Long term 2 year relationship that has Much time invested... It goes way above and beyond the cost, but NOW has a Price on what I call more important-------Your bond together. A compromise has to be made with him. xx

When I was 16, I discovered drawing. Drawing was my PASSION, I would draw every day, sometimes even wake up during the night and draw some more.

I would ditch my friends and dates just so I could go home and sit with my pencil collection.

You need to understand that at his age he has discovered a passion, something he very much enjoys and might even make it into a career. Who are you to deny him that?
Just because he's consumed by his newfound hobby doesn't mean he cares any less about you. If your relationship is starting to crumble, it's probably because you're both TEENAGERS. You two are growing up and with that comes the realization that you are most likely not compatible/want different things in life/etc., not because he got himself a guitar.

And why do you care how much money his spent on an item for HIMSELF? It's his money and he can invest it anyway he wants. Just because he's your boyfriend doesn't mean he has to spend oodles of cash on you. I highly doubt you would hold yourself to the same standard.

I think you need to be supportive of him if he's passionate about his music. Its fair that you want him to spend time with you, but don't make it a choice for him.

Just so you know $300-400 for an instrument is nothing. A budget full sized electric piano is like $500+ a nice upright is like $15,000 a top end grand piano is like $100,000... Stop being a gold digger trying to kill his heart.
