What does it mean when a guy says you're real?

When I was dating this guy before we met we would talk to each over Facebook and snap chat. We already knew each other in person. So we met again after 2 years and he said you're a real... saying something I didn't lie about who I was or what I like/dislike? Is that what it means?

You're not fake, you don't so something just to impress others, you do things the way you want to, and stand by what you believe. He likes that you're genuine and honest, which by today's standards mean that you're unique so you stand out more. Welcome to the club, it feels great not being a sheep LOL
