Just curious, why would u ever unblock an ex on social media?

most recent ex of mine, relationship of 2 years (regretfully), has unblocked me at least twice or 3 times.
it was a coincidence that i seen him unblock me. i have nothing to do with him or care. he still has some of my belongings he's never returned. which is a jerk move.
anyways, i am wondering why you guys ever do this. u unblock someone etc. i was his first gf pretty much but his family treated me like shit. i'm beautiful and have been told many times i deserved better. i'm not conceited, it's just that i am more attractive and have choices. we were not a good match since i was more of a strong personality and his is, weak.
i would not go back to him because he's not strong enough for me as a guy, i made the mistake of thinking we balance each other out.

thats rare... the guy doing the blocking... he probably just wants to snoop around on you or something once in a while. I believe any relationship that depends heavily on actions on social media is not to be taken seriously or bound to fail. Also it seems you have a good grip on things... you were just young

My question is, if you know you are the stronger party, why haven't you been able to verbally make him return your belongings? you know very well he is holding on to them to have some kind of hold on you.

well no matter what value they are, i deem it not enough to have me contact him. in otherwords, it's the end. second, his sister's bf's family harrassed me so I would require a legal presence with me. I know it's rare but 2 of my ex's blocked me and I've only blocked 1, the rest I didn't have such a bad fall out with. usually people block each other if there was a negative thing , a major negative event happened so I understand if you hate someone's face, you really don't even want to even see a pic of them, even on social media. but that's part of getting over someone. what I meant by weak is, he didn't have the balls to stand up for me in an argument, so I left. current bf has more ability to protect me, make me feel safe and loved etc. I think it's just weird he still has my belongings

This is the problem with the anti-social media.
Blocking/unblocking/likes/dislikes/bullying/etc.
Texting/IM/snapchat/twitter? whatever
Nobody TALKS anymore, and unfriending causes many rifts.
Pay no attention to your exes FB and live your own life.
Also, ask him for your stuff back.
If you want to cause trouble, ask him for it on FB.

what do u mean 'cause trouble' ? i'd pbb get my bf to ask him to give it back. i unfortunately want nothing with my ex bf, we aren't on good terms. thanks for yr answer. yup n i agree with u, Facebook has fucked up a lot of relationships

By trouble, I mean embarrassing him on FB by asking publically on his page for your stuff back.
