When a guy says he likes your face... What exactly does it mean? What are the feelings behind that?

I know it's a compliment but I find it peculiar for some reason. Like I just wonder how deep feelings could be for someone to tell me they like my face. I've been told this by a guy I was really close with (but, he lived far away) and now another guy I am getting to know has told me this. It makes me wonder if they have feelings beyond their attraction?

it means that they think you have a pretty face and they appreciate it. there isn't a hidden meaning it's a simple compliment, the only possible hidden intention is to build better rapport with you to improve the chances you will be willing to date them

No one can say. There are such a wide range of emotions one could be having, while making that statement. You can't reverse engineer it to find out what he was feeling.

In my own opinion I would take it as a compliment
