Question

Are you romantic? Do you treat a girl appropriately respect her no matter who and what she is?
Do you do romantic stuff for the girl you like, you have a crush on, for the girl you love?
I've watched one of Nicolas Sparks' love story movie today and I felt every bit of it. Couldn't help but wonder if a love story like this still exists in real world these days. A romantic guys would sweep off any girl's feet but do they still exist these days? What are the romantic things you did for a girl and what would do to make her feel love, cherishes and care for?

I'd rather have a guy that respects me as a human being and is not exactly a Shakespeare wannabe than someone who spouts pretty bullshit and then rapes me every other night because hell, relationship equals ownership, does it not? My point is, guys were NEVER Princes Charming as a general rule. It's just the courting customs that have changed. It used to go like this: "let me put you on the pedestal and woo you with poetry because you're basically Virgin Mary long as you keep your legs shut, but then again you're cognitively inferior to me and are only here to look pretty, anyway". Romantic relationships were few and far between, and few men respected their gals for their brains or personality. Then came feminism, the glorious clusterfuck of ideas how to improve our society that degenerated into a bunch of over sensitive pussies, but on its way down it asserted the women's right to be recognised as intelligent, thoughtful human beings who are valued for more than their beauty and virgnity. And I'm thankful for that because holy fuck, living in a world where I get freebies for acting incorruptibly dumb all the time would drive me insane. And especially those pompous dandies who believe that reciting sappy poetry will somehow convince me that we are intellectually compatible. Ever noticed how those romantic movies for the most part have the man do flashy shit and the girl giggling at that? Honest to God, these characters have less personality than a jellyfish.

Oh, and just to clarify, I think romantic stuff is cute. Just not all the time, and not in this sappy, cliched way that you see in chick flicks. A Walk to Remember is one of the worse offenders IMNSHO.

Movies do not necessarily reflect real life! Guys are not romantic these days. They hate women, swear, abuse and use them for sex, no politeness and tactness. They exist in a small number of the world's population.

Yes, we do still exist, and yes, a deep burning desire to love a woman more than we love ourselves is always in our hearts.

The current crop of women we see out there is honestly not worthy of us. Feminists who want the world handed to them, who want respect without earning, who only want to give a guy just a little of their heart.

I want all of your heart. Not just a part of it.

Women who foolishly fall for men who truly, deep down, hate them and have no love for them at all, aside from just the minimum to keep their women by their side.

We hate it and it disgusts us. It keeps us from going on dating websites, because we know what kind of selfish, lonely women hang out there. Women who want to be swept off their feet but want to live their own lives, afraid of ever letting us into their hearts. Afraid of becoming our mates, our wives, our lovers. Weak minded women who can not, and do not trust us enough to submit to us in every way, as our loving wives.

If that pisses you off, the idea of submitting to us, then you are one of the women we fear ever getting close to.

Life is give and take, and all proud, selfish women want to do is take.

I remind my girlfriend all the time how important she is to me. How much she makes my morning shine, even if I'm not there in person with her. Even the small things in life, we do together such as cooking, taking a shower, going out on walks holding hands and even playing video games. If we ever have sex, I'll always be sure to please her first because there are a lot of men who disrespect women in this area and I want to make her feel special and not just some sex toy.

The more involved you are with someone, the closer you feel to them. I feel like a lot of men may not be paying as much attention to their girlfriends as they used to be, but that's just my opinion :3

Most guys I know my age are much less romantic than they used to be.

I think men and women view romance differently maybe or... I don't know. Anyway, the impression a lot of men end up getting is that women don't actually care much about romance, so they stop putting in the effort in that area.

Any girl I write letters for, take out for big elaborate dinners, get flowers for, or in general do cute things for on a daily basis, has thrown it back in my face and left.

Any girl I kept guessing how much I liked them, or how involved I wanted to be fell madly in love with me. I purposely forget things like anniversaries or significant dates because it works. So ya, basically I have learned that you can't show your romantic side to women, you kind of have to the opposite.

YES!!! a million times YES! we still exist. i believe Chivalry isn't completely dead, i still think giving flowers to the girl you love every Monday is a wonderful tradition, i still think love isn't something that can be bought and a woman is much much more than a pretty face and sex, i think a beautiful girl is like a golden puzzle, she's the most valuable thing in your life and every day you learn something new about her and add another peace to that wonderful puzzle.

Nicholas sparks is not the real world. I think our main problem is we are all taught to buy in to this romanticized notion of what love and relationships should be. This why they often dissapoint us. Personally myself I try and respect the girl, listen to her feelings and do things she likes

I did stuff like; write her love letters and slip them in her backpack so she'd read them. Cook dinner for her. Take her out to eat. Go to the botanical gardens. But she couldn't see that.
