I have to say, never do I feel more like a man than when I feel it is my responsibility to protect my girlfriend. On my own, I can be a a real pussy sometimes with bugs or sounds at night, but when I was living with an ex and she would freak out on a noise or bug, I felt like superman all of a sudden... like her needing me could motivate me to do all kinds of things. Plus cuddling and holding her makes me feel protective as well.
