Is this shy guy SHY or only shy around ME or FAKE? I find shy guys so confusing and difficult to understand. Pls help me understand you guys better?

Question

It's pretty long but I'd really appreciate it if you guys could help me :)

He's shy and has been showing interest for 1 month or so. We just started talking 2 weeks back.. but not that much as we are both shy.

-He's never approached me and always observed/stared from afar
-Never able to make proper eye contact with me and sometimes looks away with a smile and then does this repeatedly.

However, today he acted a bit different
-I read that shy guys dont feel comfy with physical contact. But I find whenever our arms touch, he stays that way and then goes apart and then bumps slightly into my arm again after a while. Does this mean he doesn't like me since his comfortable with physical contact?
-We stood beside each other and when I sort of saw him looking at me from the corner of my eye, he was looking at me blankly directly to my eyes and then when I smiled at him he smiled and left out sigh from his nose (if you know what I mean. I dont know how else to describe it :P)
-He even looked me in the eye deeper than usual when we were talking today.. and usually when he leaves the room, he says "see you" and nods timidly. but today.. he said "see you" but looked in my eyes longer than usual like he wanted me to do something or like he meant it. IS HE LOOSING INTEREST IN ME? or wants me to do something? or is getting comfortable with me (which i highly doubt it because we dont really talk)
-I could sense that he wanted to tell me something after that... but when I look at him, he looked out the window and look back at his phone while shaking his head once (like he was dissapointed or something). Why do you think he does that?
-We hardly talk to each other but always make a point to stand beside each other. He even slows down his pace when walking but when I catch up with him, we just walk together but not say anything. ITS SO AWKWARD!!
-also.. he notices stuff about me like me always carrying a sketchbook and my new shoes and complimented it (not me wearing it just fyi). is this normal for a guy/SHY guy to notice stuff about the girl they dont have interest in or not?

^those signs mean he's shy around u at least... is he behavin da same way wid other people though?

^basically shy guys will feel comfy wid PC... once they get comfy around da gal they like u know... ;)

^so u don't really talk huh... then i guess he wants to approach u possibly... now i start to believe he's not a shy guy but a CONFIDENT one... when he was lookin at u from faraway... he wans't doin it out of shyness... but in order to see if u r "easy to talk" (how can i put it?)... to see if he should make a move or not... ;)

^then he DEFINETELY wants to tell u sth... maybe he might wanna say he likes u... i don't doubt it... but even a confident guy can go a little bit nervous around da person he likes... ;)

He's Soo into you.. You should let the things happen... But if it's going super slowly.. Do something.. But he finally is getting comfortable with you... It sounds cute..

I am in the same situation here. I like a shy guy and it's awkward when we talk, but we text a lot. He knows I like him and he likes me. We are pretty open about it. He definitely likes you and wants to tell you something. Get him alone where there aren't a lot of people. Start opening up a little and maybe he will tell you what he wants to say. You can also talk to his friends and ask them if he wants to tell you something. Usually, the friends will tell the guy and the guy will get the hint that you want to know. That usually helps them with their confidence. Good Luck!

I had the same problem. We don't talk often as we don't see each other often. At first it was me imitating everything other than him nodding at me. Finally he will pass by and say hi. I still do most of the talking at first. I would catch him looking from afar at me and then touching me repeatedly on shoulder while we talked. He always walks beside me as well. I was soo confused about it till I read up on it and realized he's more comfortable with me. I thought he hates me at first. It can be so confusing.

He likes u from afar. The little things he notices means he pays attention to u. He's definitely just a shy guy who gets nervous around u. He's probs too scared to speak up to u

I think the first responder is mostly correct. He may have been shaking his head because he is upset with himself for not being able to just talk to you.

He likes you. Very much. I'm also a really shy guy. I do exactly what he does when I like a girl.

I think you must take the first step. Asking after he's phone number, adding him on Facebook, and so on.
