Is it ok to have a machete under your pillow?

I keep a machete under my pillow. The last woman i brought home said it was disturbing. I can't afford a gun ( plus the gun laws in my country make it hard for persons to legallY obtain a gun). My place has been broken into before. It is only for protection. Would it disturb you if you found a machete under the pillow of a guy or girl you were having sex with?

If we were having sex then yeah I'd find it pretty weird and instantly think that you were some crazed mad man who was waiting for the right moment to behead me. Keep it under the bed. I hide knives all over the house (in hidden, out of reach/sight) places because I have a stalker so I understand you having it there. Also it's dangerous to keep it in the bed, sounds far fetched but one day you might be completely immersed in an intense dream and hurt yourself with it.

Meh, the boyfriend's got an axe under the bed. It would be disturbing if I didn't know it was there, so the person should tell me beforehand but they should also probably just not keep it under the pillow? Just store it somewhere else.

That is messed up. You should know how much. You should keep it on another place maybe and perhaps seek some counseling. You might still feel affected by what happened.

It wouldn't disturb me, I'd realize they were trying to have some protection. But I'd advise them to put it between the bed frame and mattress on the side so that you can grab it more subtly.

I keep an axe under my bed, so I know about keeping weapons in weird places. I wouldn't find it weird but isn't there another place you can put it? Under a pillow seems a little unsafe and rather uncomfortable.

You need to rethink your weapon options. How will you justify having a machete to the police unless you live in bush country. Im a joiner and I keep a new handsaw under my bed and a hammer is out of the question legally believe it or not. Had to use it once it worked well, my country has strict laws too, my burglar had "lifted" a knife from my kitchen to use as a weapon.
