What do I do when I hate my boyfriend's hobby?

My boyfriend likes nerdy stuff like the card game magic , computers and computer games. I can't stand some of the things he likes to do. It has really made me argue with him and cause conflict. What should I do?!?!? I'm going to go crazy .

Ok... since I'm a gamer addict (yes I admit) I can fully relate to his position... I'm taking it as you don't like what he does in his spare time... that's reasonable. But getting into an arguement won't solve anything... What I would suggest doing is sitting down with him (yes get him to sit down WITHOUT the TV on) and talk to him. Suggest things like... you know he likes video games, makes sure that he knows you don't and that you worry about him (because it can cause health problems). That will show him you care. Make an effort to try and spend more time with him :) show him you love him (if you do, I'm assuming you do)

Little things like that can lead to better things and a stronger relationship, ask him nicely if he would maybe cut down a bit on the time he spends doing those things. But don't pressure him, us guys hate that and it angers us.

Again just show him you care :)

Thanks ! Your right . It does make total since . I need to be nicer with the things he likes to do or makes him happy in his spare time . Because I do want him happy. and he thinks I don't because I can't stand them. Ill just kind of start over about how I react with the situation . :]

Amradin's advice was pretty good.

Any guy you date is going to have hobbies. Most of them will probably be hobbies that you don't like. What is going to be the deal-breaker on these is getting him to moderate them.

If he chooses to never see you because he's busy playing games, then that's your cue to leave. However, if you talk to him about it and tell him that you want him to spend more time with you (without the computer or card games), then he might be inclined to do things with you. Make sure he still has time for it, though. Taking away your guy's hobbies is a fatal mistake in a relationship.

You could either adopt a few hobbies of your own, or find another boyfriend. Part of being with someone is respecting their own hobbies, regardless if you like them or not.
