What should I do if my boyfriend has no hobbies?

My boyfriend doesn't have any hobbies or interests. He spends most of his free time scrolling through his phone or watching TV, which can make conversations a bit boring at times. I want to encourage him to explore new activities, but I don't know how to do this without coming across as pushy. Do you have any advice?

It's almost Christmas. Buy him something from the hobby craft store that may encourage him to pick up on it. Whittling, birdhouse kits, something that is pretty cool but requires time to do. Don't even have to bring up the subject to him but rather, surprise him Christmas morning with a cool gift and make him subconciously feel like he needs to show his appreciation of the gift by putting it to use. He may get interested in the hobby or something similar to it and naturally do it on his own without realizing that the power of suggestion was planted there by you purposely.

You pray? Lol, I mean, he is who he is. But , if we wanna be realistic, a hobby-less life has to be extremely boring. I don't believe anyone can be happy like that, so there's a breach to look at. Try to dig his past, maybe he has something to say about his earlier phases, maybe in one of these phases there were hobbies. There Must Be Something Anything ! Try to reach his past versions !

Sounds dull. I recommend you find someone with similar interests as you because it's not going to get any better with this boyfriend. He'll eventually suck the enjoyment of life out of you until all you can look forward to is a comfy chair next to him.

Have hobbies of your own, define clearly "couple time" and your own time.

This will give him 1. Absence of you, and let the loneliness sink in again and remind him it's hell out there lol.

2. It will let you stop caring and micromanaging his time, it's his time. If he wants to sit there for 3 hours with his brain switched off... Based.

I think some of the issue is that you see his free time as your time, and he is wasting it. When really its his time and you are just "in it", talk clearly and directly about your concerns to him, take accountability, get a hobby of your own and define couple time.

If the former, then just start booking stuff to do. He’ll either follow through or whine. If he whines then tell him you’re not happy with his monotony and laziness.

If the latter, then why are you in a relationship with him? You gotta do stuff together to make anything last.
