when someone likes you, they want to know more about you. They show interest in many ways: some people say hi, some try to talk but are shy, some talk and are abrasive. some will stay away and stalk you online, and some will stalk you in real life.

I'm not saying everyone who takes an interest in your life like likes you. But this guys asked you if you like anyone. He's checking to see if you're available to date, if he has competition, maybe he's hoping you like him.

That doesn't make it 100% he likes you, but the chances are high.
