Guy's Behavior

I have a crush on this guy, but he is very antisocial! Do you think it's worth trying?

A couple of months ago, I met this guy at work. When I first saw him I automatically thought he was very cute and attractive so I decided to introduce myself. I work in retail so when I approached him I expected to get a warm hello from him but instead I got this cold look from him. I decided to continue to talk to him, since maybe he was just really shy or something. But whenever I asked him a question he would answer with one word responses and didn't seem very interested. And it wasn't just with me, everyone was talking about how antisocial this guy was. It's been about 2 months since he's been working with me and he hasn't changed. Nobody at work talks to him because he is EXTREMELY antisocial. I cannot stress this enough. Also, some people from work went to school with him and they told me that he used to do really weird stuff in school like light textbooks on fire. They told me that he was always on his own and by himself at school and had no friends. I am the only person that has ever really tried to get to know him. I talk to him every time I see him and he talks a little more to me now. Sometimes he asks me questions too. But he's still very shy. I texted him a couple of times and he replies but then he quickly stops replying after a couple of minutes. Do you think I should keep trying to talk to him? I think he might have antisocial personality disorder.
