Guys, Is it weird that my husband doesn't post photo's of us on social media?

A little back story, my husband and I have been together since 2013, got married this past summer in June. He frequents both facebook and instagram all the time, posts random things like him and friends, just him, our pet rat, a photo of his sound system and him at a store holding some ridiculous hunting rifle. But I notice a resounding lack of photo's of us together or any photo's of me. I post things on facebook and tag him in them but apart from the tagged photo's the last one of us he has up is a photo we took when he first came to visit me in Canada before I moved to the states, which was back in 2013. On his instagram, the 1 and only photo of me is from almost a year ago and it's a photo of the two of us. His status on facebook does say he is married, but mainly because I am the one that changed the status and he accepted it, there are no wedding photo's on either of the mentioned social media sites (facebook/instagram), no photo's from Christmas or New Years, just nothing. I could understand if he was trying to keep both the pages professional but he posts really wacky, random and goofy things, and photo's of him and buddies or most recently a photo of a shirt he wore with penguins in coconut bras, just never anything of us.

I would really like to know if i'm just being overly sensitive, do i have a right to feel hurt? or a bit offended? Is this really something I need to worry about?

It makes me feel like he's ashamed of me or just trying to hide the fact that he's unavailable. I have been pretty understanding about this before but then I noticed he didn't even post photo's from the wedding that I started to get worried.

I should also mention, he is not a jealous or over protective type of man at all.

I use my social media account just for random stuff, and stupid stuff too, my girlfriend who I hope to marry one day, is probably one of the most important parts of my life, but it's something that I don't want to share with Facebook people, if you look at the photos of my phone, there's so many pictures of her and of us, I do wish I had sone nudes of her on my phone ( for when she's out of town) but that's not really relevant to your question, if you asked me I'd say he wants to keep it away from the crazy social media madness going on, I know that's why I do it, and we might even be happier for it

One of two things can be going on here and I'd definitely recommend talking to him about if he's truly open to you. 1. He may be embarrassed of you which I hope isn't the case. There are ways to fix this though! Show him that you are cool and with-it. By any means, this does not mean to make him jealous! 2. He's just not photogenic. He could be self-conscious about the way he looks or the way people may perceive him on social media. Ask if he would like to get his picture taken with you by a professional.

Well, we both have the same hobbies and I get along well with his friends, so I don't know about it being me not being cool or with it. lol And truth be told he photographs quite well and mayyyyyy actually have a bit of an ego so I don't think that is the case.

Since you both have the same hobbies, maybe he needs a little space and social media is where he gets his space? In a healthy relationship, both partners have a part of their life that are separate from each other.

Of course, I agree there. But we both work full time and only see one another in the evenings. On days off he goes to the shooting range with his best friend and we typically only hang out when he gets home. There is no reason for either of us to be feeling smothered. I usually feel like we could use more time together if anything.

You have every right to be upset about things and yes he should
include pictures of you on Facebook , Instagram etc. He should
thank God he got a great wife who loves him and he seems to
take things lightly but i think you need to communicate with him
let him know just how you feel , if he doesn't want show wedding
pictures of you two together or even doing things together than
he deserves to owe you a explanation. How lucky he is to have
a wife here i am been searching for years to find the right woman
so we could spoil each other and love each other real but genuinely.

For him, Fbook is just an outlet for tagging friends and joking around, like guys used to do in the pub, but now on social media. He doesn't get involved in deep reflection on life there.

Some people are very conservative in terms of what they share on social media. Don't make conclusions based on that... maybe just tell him you would love to feature on his facebook :D
Or tease him by asking how many pics of you as a couple are on there. That may work as well :D

relax. just talk to him about it. most likely he just thinks that the photos of you two are too personal and he isn't sure about posting such things on social media. the photos of his friends are much less personal so he was okay with it. from what I can tell he never refused you anytime you wanted him to share something.
if you talk to him you'll put your worries to rest.

Not at all. Many guys, if not most, do not want their entire personal lives all over the internet. The stuff he posts is random, meaningless shit. Very different from personal details.
I know plenty of happy couples that do not put the slightest hint of their relationship online. You are bowing this way out of proportion.

Well I don't know about blowing it out of proportion. I haven't spoken to him about it yet because I wanted to know whether I even should. I wanted some unbiased opinions about whether I should just brush this off or if it is something I should really worry about because I wasn't sure how to approach it.

Personally, I would ask him why he does not put up pictures of both of you. I know some guys that don't like their friends or random guys checking out or looking at their girlfriend or wife because they are overprotective. But i can't really tell from what you posted if he is like that or not so you should definitely ask him. Before you guys meet did he have pictures up with his ex's and other girls? if not then he might just be over protective.

Not a jealous or over protective person at all actually. He is very self assured, confident and has told me on many occasions that he likes it when his friends tell him I am pretty.

Then he might just be the type of guy who uses social media as fun not to show everyone the milestones of his life or how good he has it. Don't let it get to you, just ask him from what i can tell he loves you and that's all that matters. No man will marry unless he is in love.

Don't take such things by heart. It's fine. Some times people are bit uneasy showing their partner on social media. Take it in a positive manner. You look really pretty. I have a weird question, don't mind, do you prefer guys to shave their whole body smooth over a very hairy man?

I don't know why women likes pics "together". Most guys doesn't like taking pictures at all. It's not gonna make any difference, you will always remain his wife and he'd be your husband. It's kind of awkward to post pic online for guys and worse our friends make fun of us on these "together" pics.
