Guys, should I end the friendship if the thought of my guy friend turns me on?

He is aware that I have feelings for him. An opportunity for sex came up a few months ago, but I didn't take advantage of it because it'd be my first time and I wasn't sure of how he felt about me. We've never kissed or done anything more than hug, with the exception of cuddles one night when he proposed we have sex. I'm genuinely interested in him but since he hasn't acted on it my guess is that he doesn't feel the same way.

I care about him way too deeply to simply be friends and I can't stop fantasizing about him sexually, so I think it's best to walk away. Would that be a rational decision?

well first if you really do like him i would ask him how he feels instead of just waiting or leaving. Just because he doesn't act out on it doesn't mean he doesn't like you it could be he just going about it in a different way. If then you realize that he only wants sex/ doesn't see you in the same way then I would say it reasonable for you to move past him.

If you are just thinking about sex than yes because than he would only think of you as sex as well. But if not then you should tell him how you feel about him and see if he feels the same way.
