If you suddenly disappear from a guy's life and it doesn't affect him does that mean you didn't matter?

So basically. This guy did matter to me to an extent. I think so much was going on in my life that it was all jumbled, what mattered and what didn't.

I suddenly disappeared. This guy I honestly thought it barely affected him I'd see pictures of him smiling happily with his girlfriend etc. just days after I disappeared.

However when I saw him a really long time afterwards in an isolated mall, he was looking at me like the world stopped for a few seconds, like he saw a ghost.

Yep agree if his got a girlfriend you mean nothing to him, sorry! did you disappear expecting a reaction? Is the question I'm guessing so You sound like you had feelings for him! Is this true? and maybe he knew you liked him hence his reaction, maybe his girlfriend knew too. Maybe she voiced him about it.

he moved on and he may be shocked to see you. He's go a girlfriend now so don't even try to find out if he misses you anything like that. Just leave him alone to live his life.

I was never a friend, or girlfriend. Acquaintance at best.

I figured I don't matter in his life. I don't know. I don't know if it's normal for a guy to have a reaction like that.

Why should he care? After all you decided to disappear all of a sudden and from the sounds of it, you didn't even tell him anything before you did.

But the funny part is he does seem to care.

He wasn't my friend for me to tell him why I am disappearing, at best we were acquaintances.

On the one hand, it makes sense. If you saw anyone you haven't seen in a while it will be surprising.

On the other, it's also true that having an over-reaction to seeing them I'm not sure how normal that is

I think just seeing you caught him off guard. You was like a ghost that just appeared. It's kinda a normal reaction. Especially if your relationship didn't end on bad terms.
