What does "it was nice talking to you" really mean?

Sometimes I'll be having a conversation with a woman I just met, and when the conversation ends many of them say to me "it was nice talking to you".

These women seem interested in me during the conversation, so when they say that, does it mean they like me? How should I react if I am interested in her?

I always says that...and I only mean that "was nice talking to the person"...it's just normal...not that I'm interested or anything...
