When a girl bites her lower lip?

There's this girl and almost every time I walk by, she is biting her lower lip. I watch her from a distance and it doesn't look like she'd doing it. She doesn't look at me when she does this, but only when I am near. I also catch her looking at me...although I can't tell if it's because she's weirded out by me looking at her, lol. I like her, she is gorgeous. We used to talk all the time, but recently she seems more "standoffish" yet she does this lip biting stuff. It seems like she doesn't want to talk or smile anymore.

I used to bite my lip as a nervous habit, much like some people bite their nails. (I had to force myself to stop after I ruptured some salivary glands and a Mucocele formed. I had to have the ruptured glands surgically removed, and I can still feel the scar on the inside of my bottom lip.) In retrospect, I guess I did do it a bit more around a guy I was kinda into because I'd get a little more nervous. But that's just me.

You say you don't think she does it when you notice her from a distance. This could mean she does it around you or you just don't notice it when sneaking glances. There is a chance it's an attempt to get your attention (look around and you'll notice many things note a girl subtly licking or biting her lip as a sign she wants a kiss). There's an equal chance that it's just a bad habit.

Sorry to not be much help, but the truth is is that it's impossible to tell based on just the lip biting. There are plenty of other q's/a's about catching people glancing, so I won't address that.

It's strange though because I've known her for months, and she just started doing this. Ironically right after I told her that I liked her...so I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing. Like I said she doesn't smile as much either, like she used to, yet she wears perfume now...which she never did before. I don't know if I should approach her again because it seems like she doesn't want me to, yet she's doing things that seem to indicate she wants me to. I'm just so confused.

i mainly bite my lip when I'm nervous around a guy I like, and I know that to be true about a lot of my friends who do that too. I'll bite my lip when I'm nervous (and far away), or, I may even bite my lip as a flirtatious move (when he's close).

But what does this girl have to be nervous about? She already knows I like her. The only thing I can think is that maybe she isn't interested like I thought she was.

That's so strange to me, I don't get it. She is so beautiful and used to be so different. I can't help but think that I messed up by telling her how I feel about her. If she like me too, wouldn't she act interested as opposed to distant and doing weird things like this lip thing? Oh yeah, and she fixes her hair differently now and wears perfume which I never noticed before. Maybe she likes someone else...

Just knowing that you liked her x weeks ago isn't normally enough to make a girl not nervous. If it was more than a week ago (maybe less depending on the guy), there's a good chance that she's afraid that you've moved on to someone else (assuming she's into you). Or that she's afraid she'll say/do something stupid near you. Think of any reason you might be nervous around a girl you liked; it could be manifesting itself through that lip biting.
