If guys actually DID get kicked in the nuts once a month (starting from, say, age 10 or 11), then most guys would be sterile by the time they're ready to breed. In addition, that would cause serious medical complications later in life (including, I believe, a drop in testosterone production, which would lead to nothing but girly men). Biologically, a bad idea.

Second, biological double standards are always going to exist. For example, I have nuts to get kicked in and you don't. I grow muscles much better than you. I'm taller. I can't get pregnant or deliver babies. None of that's going to change, so deal with it.

Third, while biology may favor the guys, society does not. Feminism has basically brought modern society to completely despise men. We're practically here for sex and work, that's about it. While biologically, being a man is awesome, civilization has made it kind of suck. Double standards suck too.

Only kidding though. I have never experienced a period, so I can't really compare it to getting kicked in the nuts, but I think even a light tap in them hurts a lot more than females realize.

Not all guys brush it off. You really can't just generalize all guys like that. Even though we don't understand how it feels, we are still sympathetic when someone we are close with is going through it and try to help as best we can. There's not really a whole lot we can do to make you feel better, but some of us at least try.

Come on NotJustAnotherGuy, I hardly think she's serious. It's kinda like you saying guys have a higher threshold for pain and that women will never understand. The point she's making is that men don't understand what it's like to have a period every month and they just dismiss it as nothing. It's not nothing, it's not fun, and it is painful. Sometimes it's more severe - yes, vomiting may be involved 0 sometimes the pain is so bad that you can not move.

I honestly think that pain is relative - some people can handle it better than others. And please don't take anything I've said in a mean or nasty way (that's not how it's intended). I'm just pointing out that men and women have different experiences, but it's not a contest as far as who's in more pain or who deals with it better. But being understanding goes a long way...

LOL! You know what's funny about this is that someone on here asked what it feels like when guys get hit in the groin. Most of them said pain going down to the knees and up the chest. Another added that it felt like he was going to be sick. I don't know about you, but that's kinda describing the cramps we get every month.

You know what gets on my nerves though. When guys start teasing me (or someone else) about having my period. At that point I ask if they'd like me to describe it to them and they usually shut up...

I am not a whack job and I'm not normally like this. I'm on my period right now...I spend most of my time lying in bed in the fetal position otherwise it's changing my bloody tampons every 3 hours, I get dizzy, nauseous, light headed and I barely function properly. And fyi, yesterday I threw up. I'm just lucky school's out for summer or else I'd pass out in class...

I think your solution is idiotic but your point is a good one. There 's no reason to try to make guys suffer pain just because girls have to endure menstruation - but there is also no reason that guys should not be able to understand what a girl goes through - I mean, pain is pain - we might not know exactly how you feel with horrible cramps, etc., but we do know what extreme pain feels like - what difference does it make where it comes from? If someone you know is in extreme pain, anyone who has any sensitivity will be sympathetic and offer to do something to make it better, even if we really can't affect it. Why so many guys are so callous and indifferent to girls with painful periods is totally beyond me - I can just conclude they are cold and unfeeling and basically just complete asses.

You probably don't realize exactly how bad it hurts to get hit in the nuts. Imagine crashing into something on your bike. Now, take away all the distractions like "D***, my bike!" And "This is so embarrassing!" and focus COMPLETELY on the pain. Now intensify it. More. More. More. Ok, now, as soon as you feel this pain, add nausea, spots in your eyes, and forget how to breathe. That's about as close to describing how it feels as is possible. So yes, I understand that periods suck. Yes, I do feel lucky that I don't have to deal with having one every month. No, I don't think that's at all a fair idea.
