Why doesn't he want to take my virginity?

Perhaps I'm making this a bigger deal than what it is but... I've been dating this guy for about 6 months now, and well, I'm a virgin. He's not. I really want him to take my virginity, and I'm completely ready, but he's never actually had sex with me and I get the feeling he doesn't want to. We've done other things, but whenever I initiate something more he always pushes me away. I asked him once about it and he brushed it off asking why I am " obsessed with sex" and why what we're doing now isn't good enough.

I've kind of accepted that, until I recently spoke with his best friend who casually mentioned he, and I quote, "used to take virginities like it was a sport". Well, I got highly offended and now I'm pissed.

Before I confront him about it I wanna have some thoughts about why that might be; so I'm asking this website. Why has he had NO problem with this with other girls but now suddenly he pushes me away? Is he now attracted to me?

I would say he is taking this relationship a bit more seriously and he is developing deeper feeling for you therefore taking your virginity is more special to him. However, I would think 6 months in should be fine though for developing deeper feelings. I would be worried as to why he is avoiding the question and avoiding you. If you are ready and he doesn't want to after six months, I think you deserve an answer. Maybe he had a pregnancy scare from another girl, or maybe a STD issue. You have a right to at least talk about it and ask why or why not.

The way I see it and from what you mentioned his friend said. My conclusion is maybe a part of that past haunts him and wants it to be different with you. That is great your ready but just let it progress, don't try to force it but if its important to you then talking to him isn't a bad thing but I wouldn't hold his past against him.

6 months is a very short time for this. Take it slow, for your own good. Best friends sometimes exaggerate to make their friends seem Cooler.

It seems he is being genuine and affectionate. He may have some level of regret for his previous actions and as such, actually wants to change that and ensure he is being serious this time around.

I wouldn't approach him in a negative way, guys (especially friends) have a really abrupt way of saying things. Don't take what his friend said too much out of context, that is just how guys talk.

Is he still affectionate besides that? If so, I'd see it as a good thing. He respects you enough not to have sex FOR NOW. If he's still with you it's probably for good reason.

Sounds like he feels guilty about doing it. Maybe he wants it to be special for you. Or maybe he knows he won't be with you very long and he doesn't want to take it and leave you. You should be forward with him and ask.

He probably cares about you and doesn't want to compare you to the other girls he has been with. I'd tell him that you care enough for him to take your virginity, but only when he is ready to take that step.
