I will just break the discussion since all I see here is utter bullshit. People who don't know what they're saying.
Your boyfriend might be from a certain culture which sticks to certain norms. He obviously loves you because he doesn't want to lose you. It might be a cultural norm to marry a person who has the same religion. In other words, other beliefs are sadly not accepted.
What he is trying here is not 'forcing' you, but trying to make you get a look at it and see where it goes.
These people here commenting think he is forcing you because of religious things which is defenitely not the case, because even in the holy book there is written that one shouldn't force this religion upon another. He is trying to make you get a look at it because of the cultural norm.
To clean up another bullshit (not referring to you), learning Arabic isn't necessary
No I'm Zoroastrian.
Asking you to read a little is not the same as trying to convert you. Take a risk - read some, read about Jesus in the Qu'ran, it's pretty interesting. It's not going to hurt you. Christ will still know who you follow.
He is definitely doing that. Since he is sending messages from the quran and stuff.
Yes.
He takes his religion seriously, so he wants to convert you. If he wanted to simply educate you on his religion (what he believes or why) he would talk about that, or send video clips of someone talking about Islam.
Pushing the Koran, flat out, means he wants you to convert.
The fact that he wants you to learn Arabic means he EXPECTS you to convert. Proper recitation and prayers are only allowed in Arabic, technically, and many Muslims, who do not speak Arabic, simply learn those lines phonetically.
He's definitely trying to at least open the door.
I'm always a proponent of educating yourself on other systems of belief. Ignorance is the gateway to senseless fear. Knowledge is anathema to Ignorance. Therefore, Knowledge informs your fear, letting you use the fear, rather than the fear using you. And, more importantly, prevents other people from controlling you with your fear.

Yup, and it's not okay from his part. When i'm talking to a girl, the last thing I care about is forcing my religion onto her. She's her own person, I shouldn't have to push something onto her that she clearly doesn't want or else she would have had it as part of her life a long time ago.
I dated a muslim chick once she tried that shit. Told her i was athiest and still tried. Run from that shit before you know it you'll be screamin allah akbar and turning intp fireworks.
Orthodox or not thats being a twat. Last piece if religion is right why are there so many around and new ones forming. All are cults until they reach a certain # of followers. #knowledgeispower
I'm not sure I'm fully following your opening sentence. I do know that some Muslims don't belive some of the stuff mohammed taught such as the extreme violence and poor rights for women but the ones who follow all the Muslim texts (hadith included) are comanded to do some things that... well look at any mid eastern nation under sharia law.
I would tell him one time and one time only, don't try and force your religion on me. If he continues to do so, tell him your done block him and move on. That's what I would do.
I'm not very religious and I don't care if other people are. I have my beliefs and I keep them to myself unless asked. I hate when people try and force their beliefs onto me.
Yes, he clearly is. This is typical in Christian-Muslim relationships and sometimes even in friendships. I once had a Muslim girlfriend who went to great lengths to get me to convert so I would be presentable to her parents.
I didn't convert...
Incidentally, the encouragement to learn Arabic, especially through the Quran, is a dead giveaway.
He sounds to me like anyone who like his religion, he tells people how great it makes it feel and even of I'm atheist I can understand that.
If he insists and makes you uncomfortable, you can ask him to stop ^^
Do a pact with him. For every page or better chapter you read from the quran, he has to read a a chapter from the bible. But be honest. And then ask him about what he read. I'd be happy to know what'll happen ;)
If it is making you uncomfortable, just tell him to stop. If you don't speak up he is going to think it's okay to keep bringing up other religions to you. He should respect your religious beliefs.
Sure if he can convince you... he feels he has gained a brownie points to get entrance into heaven...
and you guys can share the same religion together as well lol...
You should be careful, that's the way how the IS is recruiting people to go to syria, especially women. They have guys which are really good at writing and flirting online and step by step they are bringing you towards Islam.
I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing your religion with someone else
Your beliefs are those of archaic fools who believe the earth is flat and people without proper medical care are capable of living to 800 taking care of every animal on the planet in a wooden boat and surviving being eaten alive by a whale as well as a plethora of other impossible things
But it's fine to share
Well, in my opinion it is totally bossible that there is a god. And if there is, there is no reason to believe his powers are limitless. Not sure why i'm a fool to believe that some things are unbelievable. Hey, b. t. w. who told you that christians believe the earth is flat? There is talk of planets, stars and the universe, even dinosaurs in the bible. You have to destinguish betwen what christians believe and what the "church" is going on about.
But hey, as you already know: just my opinion, right?
Stay away from muslims though. But especially atheists. Agnostics are pretty ok i guess. Good people, and smarter most times
Block everywhere
Delete everywhere
Make sure to not give into it.
Not all religions are compatible.
Hahahahaha uh yeah don't convert. Feel free to read though. Women are treated like animals under true Islam and shariah law. Just look at what's happening to Sweden rn.
Right and under sharia law men beat their wives if they are disobedient. Over 60% of women in Algeria believe it's ok for their husbands to beat them. That's the kind of twisted theology Islam pushes. Oh and Muhammad married Aisha at 6 and fucked her at 9 let's go ahead and put that out there.
Thank you
"Women in Islam cover their body because they don't want to be naked like animals as Christian women doing" ... Hmm, this is nothing but a bunch of BS. I've met plenty of "Muslim women" who have zero issue sleeping around with random strangers who have money.
Her being "covered" means nothing, if she's still a who** under that "conservative clothing". Just my two cents.
@saudiguy1, They are delinquents and in the end they are human beings who make mistakes and do not represent true Islam because Muslims, if they apply Islam as it is, do not make mistakes.
6^^^
Yeah don't think there's any evidence for that. Skeletons haven't changed much in 1000 years
Not enough go justify sleeping with 9 year olds
Trinity. God in 3 personalities. I like to compare this to a quantum superposition (qubit being in a 0 and 1 state at the same time).
I'm Muslim and I love how nobody would ever say anything to my face but they love to flood the internet with hate lol. In these times he's probably trying to convince you that Islam isn't a terrorist religion like the media portrays and he just wants you to accept it in a good view
Download the Quran in "English " it will help you to learn " Arabic "lmao
Look I'm Arabian and a Muslim and these kind of people I hate dealing with and I guarantee you he doesn't even know a lot about Islam , ofc he is trying to convert you it's obvious
Yes, clearly he is, and you should stay away from him.
He's doing what most followers of any religion do, trying to force their false beliefs onto others.
Subliminally forcing.
Okay 👍
That's rude of you, I have many Muslim friends and a Muslim aunt and none of them force their beliefs on me, they are all respectful of my beliefs
Notice the "most"?
Again, there are many Muslim people in my country, I am yet to meet one who has tried to force their beliefs on me
I'm going to be honest mate, I don't really care. I've got a Muslim uncle who is constantly trying to get me to look into Islam, so I'm going off personal experience.
Who would win:
A guy who looks like he's just crawled out of a TV or a guy who is so bored he will literally argue any point for hours?
Unfortunately mate, you are. I'm entitled to my own opinion, and in my opinion all religious people try forcing their religion onto others, without even realising in most cases.
Religion is the one of the biggest causes of war, murder and just death in general, so no I can't really tolerate talking about it. And I don't consider this "simple talk" to be anything but a bit of a laugh tbh
I'm not talking about our little chat, but about you and all the religious people you've ever met ! Sounds like you and I had a very different experience every single time so I'm looking for the cause ^^
As for religion, it has helped mankind during millenias -and still do- wherever other social constructs and infrastructure are not strong enough to maintain cohesion in human groups !
You know something, I can't be assed being drawn into a debate about shit like this when it's this early so go I'm backing out. Go find someone else to question with your superior knowledge.
to me it looks like he wants to teach you arabic and tell you about his religion, but since he cares a lot about religion
TIME TO FUCK OFF
Haha. Search for love zihad. This is a problem here in india. They do that i don't know why but they do
Certainly looks like he is. You should run as far as you can AWAY from that Satanic religion, and as FAST as you can toward Christianity
@100lbguy You've certainly gotten ahold of some wrong information about REAL Christianity
yep, he's in love and wants to go to heaven with you.
Haha yeah... the good thing is he is not forcing you to do it but he is trying to convert you.
Jesus Christ is neither God nor Son of God, he is just a prophet, The Bible never said that Jesus Christ is God. Read Holy Quran it tells you everything and guide you to the right path.
You are mistaken:
John 1:1-3 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made... 1:14 - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
Explaining the trinity is not an easy task, but I'll try. God is one, im sure muslims and christians agree that there is only room for one, but he has revealed himself be 3 in 1, the father is not the son, nor the son the father, the spirit not the father or son but all are the same one God.
In short he is both at once, like a quantum superposition (a bit being both 0 and 1 at once) he exists as both at once.
@Aaraz I have a question for you buddy... Why is a pervert old man who had sex with little girls considered a role model for muslims? ... What exactly is it that deserves to be praised about raping children? It's disgusting what he did, but even more disgusting how all muslims seem to justify it.
We cannot fully comprehend an infinite God but he has revealed himself in a way we can apprehend as much as possible. God explaining himself to us would be like teaching a child the physics and math behind a quantum computer, the child simply cannot understand how one of these machines works and nor should they since the best minds in the world can't either.
Think of us as inhabitants of flat land, we live in 2d but God lives in 3d. We can't understand depth while he can
Of course I tend to steer clear of the shameful acts of mohammed unless that's what the conversation is on, it seems Muslims get insulted by that and it dampens attampts to spark conversation. And believe me, mohammed lead not a good life and comitted many agregious acts for a man supposed to be the example of purity. The sex with underage women is merely the tip of a very large iceberg for the things mohammed did (as documented by Muslims).
1. Matthew 3:16
“After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him.”
2. Matthew 12:28
“But if I [Jesus] cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
3. Matthew 28:19
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. . .”
4. Luke 3:22
“And the Holy Spirit descended upon Him [Jesus] in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My [the Father’s] beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.”
@Daltron focus
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 12:29 Jesus said
"Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." The words "our God" indicate that Jesus had a higher God over him, a stronger God than him. Jesus didn't say "Your God". He said "our God" which includes Jesus as the creation of GOD.
If Jesus was GOD, then why did he ask for GOD's Forgiveness in Luke 23:34?
Luke 23:34 “ Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why Mark 15:34 says
"And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
If Jesus was GOD, then did Paul say in 1 Corinthians 8:6
"yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live."
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said
"Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, _to my God and your God.'"_
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said
"I do nothing of myself" ? Can't GOD do anything he wills?
John 8:28 “ Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said
"My Father (GOD) is greater than I"?
John 14:28 “ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"?
Luke 23:46 “ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 10:18 Jesus said
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.”?
Also in Luke 18:19 Jesus said only GOD Almighty is Good: ""Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone."
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus begged his GOD to have mercy on him and to pass the cup to death (kill Jesus in another words) before Jesus goes through the pain of crucifixion?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 18:38 he didn't reply when he was asked about the truth?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 24:36 Jesus said
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Jesus told his followers that no one (including Jesus) knows when the judgment day will come, only GOD knows?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Isaiah 11:2-3 GOD had put the spirit of fearing GOD in Jesus? Also see GOD's Spirit in the many others beside Jesus.
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:31 Jesus told his followers that if he (Jesus) bears witness of himself, then his record is not true?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:30 Jesus told his followers that he can't do a single thing of his own initiative?
John 5:30 “ I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:36-38 Jesus said that GOD had assigned him (Jesus) work and GOD is a witness on Jesus?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:37 Jesus told his followers that they have never seen GOD at anytime nor ever heard his voice?
John 5:37 “ And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why did he pray to his GOD in Luke 5:16?
Luke 5:16 “And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus fell on his face and prayed to his GOD?
Matthew 26:39 “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
If Jesus was GOD, then how come in Hebrew 5:7 he prayed and cried for GOD to hear him and give him mercy by saving him from death?
If Jesus was GOD, then how come in John 1:18 he said
"No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the FATHER'S side, has made HIM known." Where do you see Trinity in this Verse?
If Jesus was GOD, then how come in John 5:37 he said
"And the FATHER who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard HIS voice nor seen HIS form," Jesus and the GOD are different. People heard Jesus, but never heard GOD.
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:3 he said “ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:40 he said “ But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Numbers 23:19 he said (GOD is not a man neither the son of man)
“ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:25 he said ( and these have known that thou hast sent me.)
“ O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.”
If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 15:24 he said
“ But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Question: Is the Lord sends another god or messenger to guide people?
Matthew 26:39, he knew he was to die for us, and was looking to the father for courage and another way if possible as he lowered himself to. human level he would feel pain.
Though he is God taken human form for our sake, he still willingly died for us all. This is the time he was most upset about the doom he was to willingly go through, an understandable reaction which proved how much he lowered himself so we could interact with him. It shows us also that he knew full well what was to come, shattering the idea he knew not the suffering ahead.
Ever hear the marker analogy? Presenter holds out a marker with two people looking at it, one at the circle end and one at the rectangular side, when they both report only what they see one says it's a rectangle and one says it's a circle, they're both kind of right but kind if wrong as the 3d marker is both at the same time but the 2d views cannot describe the full 3d nature. This one of the best ways to explain the trinity.
I made the choice myself, I was encouraged by my parents as their beliefs influenced my own. However the final say was and still is my own.
Jesus lowered himself to human level for our benefit, he experienced temptation, sorrow, joy, and all the other human things so he could relate not just by omniscience but by experience and so we could develop a relationship with him. He still had his godly power, so much as arch an eyebrow and every angel in the universe would snap to attention, he raised the dead, healed the sick, and gave us power to cast out demons.
You're starting to get the whole 3 in 1 thing, Jesus did take fully human form, however his soul was and is still that of God.
I think you knew the answer before you even asked it here?
y'all need Satan.
Yes he is now get rid of him
Erm yeh he is!
Yeah he is
Lol. Run.
Yes he is
looks like it, yeah
Send him the bible
Yes.
Lame.
