Why is he flirting with me in an immature way?

He'll bump into me, make dumb jokes about me, he says my face makes his eyes hurt, and some other stupid stuff. Why does he have to act so immature?

But when we are by ourselves he will be nice. If I ask him to put something away for me (at work) he will do it or he will look at me and smile.

LOL, it's because he's immature still honey. Trust me...some of them stay like that even when you get OLDER.

Just think of it as the kindergarten playground - when we had a crush on a boy we would chase them around the playground...and vise versa. He's just basically doing the same thing. Also, he might not know how or have the confidence to flirt with you for real. I would put him on the spot and just casually say something to him (sweetly) when he's being nice like "Wow...I wish you were like this to me ALL the time...I like you better this way." and see if it makes a change :)
