Is he trying to flirt with me?

Me and my guy friend work out together everyday pretty much. The other day I started picking up on some things and I just wonder if it’s all in my head. We always sit in his car and talk before we go in and the other day when we were we just locked eyes and held it for a good 6-7 seconds. We have a lot of eye contact but not like this. Then later on I noticed when he was talking to me that he would lift his shirt up just enough to show his stomach… and then the next night he just took the whole thing off. It was only me and him at the gym that night and he was a lot more playful than usual. Also sometimes when he is talking to me he will lick his lips while staring into my eyes. Let’s just say he makes me feel something and I’m wondering if it’s because he feels it too or if this could be in my head. It feels very positive but is this something guys regularly do?

Truthfully I don't know if he's just comfortable around you, or that is flirting. It could just as easily be either.
What does your gut tell you?

  My gut feels like yes. Of all the relationships of been in I’ve never in my life had someone look at me the way he does. And I don't know he can be kinda fidgety sometimes. Like he is confident about it one day but more reserved the next.

  I get that. You could say something like, "If you were to flirt with me, how would you do it?"
  I suspect you'll have your answer in only a few minutes. Even if he isn't interested in you that way? You still have protected the friendship.

This definitely isn't regular behavior of a man being friendly. I think he has feelings for you, especially because of the part where he just took his shirt off and is licking his lips. BUT- I suggest that you give him some more time and try to notice more potential signs before shooting a shot or whatever unless you're comfortable and okay with just going for it now. I hope this helps.

I can only speak for myself, but I probably wouldn’t work out at the gym with a lady friend that much… and if I did and only regarded her as a friend I would go out of my way to make it unmistakably platonic.
