Why do white men not date black women?

I live in a predominantly white neighborhood and I’m a black women. Where I live there is BARELY any interracial couples besides the typical black men with a white girl. So why is it that white men do not date black women? Some claims that they’re attracted to them but “can’t” date them or be with them which is indirectly saying I can’t be with you because you’re black but not directly.

Many white guys are attracted to black girls, but there are a couple of concerns:

1. Many black women aren't interested in dating anything but black men. That's a potential rejection right there, regardless of the guy asking.

2. Many non-black guys don't want to get into a confrontation with black men for dating "their" women - something I've actually witnessed with my own eyes and ears before.

3. There *can be* a large cultural divide, though of course, that's not always the case.

Anyway, the best thing you can do is make it clear, though your actions and behavior (and perhaps through your network of girlfriends) that you like non-black guys too, and would potentially be interested in dating them. A lot of guys just need to see some positive signs from the girl in order to gain the confidence to ask her out.

1. Inter racial dating is not as common as it may seem, and most people are into their own race and want children that look like them in that respect.

2. Whether rightly or wrongly black women are seen and portrayed as hard to deal with, loud, and unpleasant. Not saying that's you but i'm just telling you the perception.

@Badkittycat That's part of it, but I doubt it's the whole reason considering only 24%-28% of black women are actually married in the United States. Additionally 48% are reported as never married. Unfair or not, perception is reality for people.

Because generally speaking white men don't find black women attractive.
I mean you see so many white men with Asian women and even more with hispanic/latina women. It's all about attraction. Men generally make the first move based on physical attraction.

I must be from another planet because these comments about WM and BW not having "anything to do with each other" are spoken from ignorance. I'm white , from the South, and all I dated (before I married a black woman) were black women. They were very easy to talk to and responded well to humor and being appreciated and noticed like most women of any ethnicity are. Black women are beautiful.
