There is a rip quite high up, but there's a 'pocket material thingy' underneath the rip, so you can't see my underwear. (If that makes sense - basically a rip where the pocket is)

To be honest, if you hadn't put the circle round it I probably wouldn't have noticed the rip.
If you were sitting cross-legged what used to be called "Indian style" before - to paraphrase Clint Eastwood - the world became filled with such p*ssies offended by everything, then unless there's another rip further down you can't see on the picture he probably wasn't looking at anything, just zoned out and your crotch happened to fall in that direction.

The crotch on those pants is tight and you are good looking, so it would be easy for him to be interested in checking out your crotch area. Add to that you were sitting cross legged, which would pull it tighter, and I imagine he was enjoying his thoughts about you. Like I said, you are a good looking woman.
Yeah it's hard to tell but chances are he was looking in that area but i think he made it too obvious i think that is turn off to a girl if she catches a guy looking there I had a neighbor who was younger she would stare at older Men down there so who knows i think this happens in life but he could of been trying to see your panties ugh i was at a doctors appointment and this girl was sitting with this skirt on and no lie anyone could see what color panties she was wearing and i wasn't trying to be perv but you couldn't help to see them. Since you were wearing jeans and nothing was visible, I would not make conclusions. Maybe he was just staring ahead of him and looking at anything in his field of vision. If he continues to check you out it's time for a chat... positive or negative!

I can't usually see vaginas through jeans. Maybe her butt? He might have just been contemplating life or trying to think of what to buy someone for Christmas. Sometimes people just stare blankly while they think.
also, I think my eyes my eyes would wonder off as well ( I am 99% sure), in the "general area" around your belly button, if you had this same outfit with that naked belly shirt thingy (forgot how do you call that type of garment)... so probably this is exactly what happened, because this type of naked belly garment is, i guess, not so usual in the winter
