Why are guys so protective over their sisters?

We know the difference in physical strength and we know what it is like to be a man.
You have likely never felt a man's full strength. especially not when aggressive.

It is painful to say, but as a grown man, grown women seem like children in terms of strength most of the time. Obviously there are exceptions, but as a general guideline it is very true.

So they are worried an unscrupulous man could hurt you, as it would be very easy for him to do so.
They care about you and don't want you to get hurt.
So logically, they protect you.

I assume because it is how they show affection to them, or because they are worried about them, or possibly both. I have two older sisters, but they lived with my father most of my life, so I never really had this situation happen or I would be able to explain better.
