First of all, you don't know what I consider average. I often think that girls who others deem plain are actually more attractive than some of these models and actresses and pop stars that everybody else says is so hot. I find Kristen Schaal to be prettier than Scarlet Johanson. I might be weird, but lots of guys are weird, and all are weird differently from me and from each other. You don't know how you look to a guy, maybe every other guy and girl treats you like you're ugly, but this one guy thinks you're super cute, but he assumes you wouldn't be interested in a guy like him, so he never approaches. You'll never know how many guys you walked past who thought you were gorgeous when you felt ugly, or who thought you were ugly when you felt gorgeous. You don't have any idea what you look like on HIS beauty scale, because it's unique to him and not like any other guy.

Second of all, yes, if a girl had the sack to ask me like a fucking adult asks for what they want, I would think of her as an adult and take anything she had to say seriously. If she plays games where I'm supposed to read her fucking mind and that unlocks the key to her heart, I know that she's a fucking toddler in a grown up body and I don't take her seriously at all.

A lot of women are starving for male attention and affection and validation and they have no idea why and they think it's because "I must be ugly, wahh!" and it has literally nothing to do with their looks at all, it's that they did everything that was humanly possible to teach the last two generations of men NOT to approach women, because it could be sexual harassment.

It's like asking a comedian to go tell jokes, but he's not allowed to offend ANYBODY in the audience, or he goes to jail. It's just not possible, you can't tell a good joke without taking a chance at telling a bad one. Approaching women is the same. What one woman finds cute, another finds creepy. And the problem is that you've made annoying or offending or creeping out women practically fucking illegal. Well guess what, if you do that, guess what men will stop doing? They'll stop taking a chance on possibly offending some woman with a giant feminist man-hating chip on her shoulder, and getting accused of sexual harassment and put on a list of sexual predators.

And you think it's a joke and you think that never really happens, but yes it fucking does and it's not a joke and you can keep ignoring this problem all you want, but good luck ignoring the consequences:

When someone has the guts to approach me and ask me out, that would definitely catch my interest.

Looks aren't all that important, it is but not as much as you think. So why not give the girl a chance and get to know her? You'd never know wether you have things in common or not. Maybe I would get to know her better or take it to the next step.

If the guy you're after has some form of empathy and morals (everybody does), i'd go for it.

Yes. Physical appearance forms our gut reaction on someone because we can’t connect to anything else. If she walked up to me and engaged in conversation I would be present in the moment and through our interaction either find points of connection or counterpoints.
