I’ve only heard him call me these names, not any other female colleagues
Why would he call me “baby” “honey” “sweetheart” “hun” ?
I’ve only heard him call me these names, not any other female colleagues
It can mean various things depending how it's said, so a word isn't really a word?
He may be playful with it, means he's comfortable with you, may be endearing/affectionate, it could be derogatory (lowering)... e. g. "yes CEO... honey baby, your idea is fine but this one is better"... lol. You get my drift. Some things are hard to communicate with words and text, we need context:) I think he's just being cheeky and comfy. To me... it is out of place at work, I wouldn't use those words at work ever because of the risks. This is work, peoples survive... ya don't mess with someone else at work good or bad. He's out of line:)
you want to know if he likes you, he likes you, beyond that, hard to say...
in the words of Robin Williams in the movie Good Will Hunting "Christ you're an amateur"
honestly what do you think? he only calls YOU that and you get along perfectly, you laugh and smile... come on connect those 2 neurons, fire up that grey matter
Sweetheart just sounds like a couple who’ve been married for 50 years. But as with all other signs, if he’s treating you different than other girls then there’s a good sign he likes you.
Depending on the context and non-verbals, he might be attracted to you, or he may be demeaning you.

Is he friends with any other female colleagues? If he is and you're the only one he calls terms of endearment, then yeah, it might mean he wants to be more than friends. If he isn't friends with other women, then it could be nothing. I call female friends "hun" all the time. It's actually a pretty common thing here in the south. It doesn't mean anything, really.
we’re from boston and yeah he is friends with them but he doesn’t really ever call them pet names
Then, yeah, he might be in to you.
I agree if he is from a southern lineage It would be very normal to use those terms in everyday conversation but I find it is meant more for flirting in the north
Baby, sweetheart and hun are not "pet" names. If he made up name for you alone, that would be a pet name. Lots of men use those minor terms of endearment for women they like. It doesn't mean they want to go out with them. Get more info on his marital, dating status before you hop off the deep end.
Personally I would be pissed if a female colleague would call me this way and I would give her a very cynical riposte.
In the south is is common reparte' toward strangers even, as a sign of community. Nice to see you baby! As you're part of the family of our region. It is not derogatory or demeaning. If you don't like it, say so and he'll stop, I'm sure. Only THEN is it demeaning when he won't stop. I think it's harmless.
It’s a sign that he likes you and feels comfortable with calling you something other than your name. Like “Babe” or “Baby”.
He either likes you or is gay. Ima go with the first one.
A lot of people just use those names as a by-word.. to use
All terms that are pretty intimate in terms of relationship...
Yeah he shouldn't be saying any of that in a work environment. Why are you allowing it?
If you say you're really good friends, then maybe he just really is comfortable calling you that but it not necessary that it means something.
Highly possible he thinks there could be more to this friendship then you have already.
No it doesn't always mean anything I had someone call me babe and we weren't even dating we didn't even talk that much either
He's testing the waters to see if you LIKE it. Or, do you live in the south?
Boston!!
You're in Bah ston? Well then, he's just being fresh to see if you'll return the little terms of endearment. Is HE from the south? Is he an OLD guy? Old guys can get away with calling young girls all that stuff.
He’s like 5 years older than me
That's not old man territory. He's just hoping for a response that says "ok, you want some special affection, I'll go there". However, in a work place situation, it could definitely be rude and inappropriate.
He likes you but doesn't mean that he likes you in a romantic way. Just means that he likes you.
Some people use dialect like this, think about how you call guys older than you in the country sir and older women ma'am.
It honestly sounds like he’s flirting with you, lol or is he Gay?
Because he thinks of you as his girlfriend. I call demi hon all the time
Well sometimes ok most of the time I message demi saying hey hon
he likes u he sees u more than friends he wants to have something with u
Probably means nothing. However, I find it weird when people use pet names for anyone besides their SO.
If you 99% know he's not gay, then you should ask him after you've started a chat if he like likes you?
Because he is going to fuck your love hole very hard
