Not ready for anything serious now means no, right?

So when a guy says "I'm not ready for anything serious right now" I feel like he's saying "Yeah you're nice and all, but you don't do it for me." Am I wrong?

It kinda depends on where you're at with him right now.

1) If you haven't been on a date with him (say, you just asked him out), then it's probably a nice way of letting you down easy.

2) If you've already dated, or are sexually active, then he is not looking for a relationship, but is still interested in you physically. In my experience, 90% of guys fit into this category (including myself). But he knows that if he says that he doesn't want a girlfriend, he stops getting laid.

So it's the truth, he really doesn't want anything serious, but the reason depends on where you're at with him NOW.

Yep, that could be right, but it could also be taken at face value---that indeed he is not interested in something serious now. Also, many times I find girls that I just want to have a sexual fling with, and I know they want something more, so I've used that as a 'safe' way to tell them, not interested in anything serious, but wouldn't mind playing....

Well, your not exactly wrong but your not exactly right either. If a guys not ready for a serious relationship than that simply means that he's not ready to be tied down. He may like you, he may not. But either way he's still not ready to be with one person and one person only. It usually depends on the guys age but some never grow up. We all know that! No. He's interested. He just don't want no serious relationship right now. he's just looking to have fun, hang out, chill, and nothing else more. A lot of guys are like that when they are really young in there late teens and early 20's. So, you're fine.

When a person says that, they don't want to commit to you. They don't want to feel responsible and don't want any sort of attachment. Take it as a rejection and move on.

I have a girl telling me this same thing. Just go with it and see where it goes. At the same time try not to put yourself out there.
