What do you think are some signs that a guy is a player?(:

There's this guy I've been talking to for a while now. He lives in a different town but we text a lot and he's always really sweet.(:

He calls me cutie, he always compliments me about how pretty I am and how I'm really cool about things.

Our conversations aren't just that though, we do also talk about other things, but I'll admit like half of our conversations are just flirting.

Do you think he's a player?

I asked a similar question more than two months ago and I see so much similarity between your situation and mine. Honestly, there's no formula or must-be-signs that a guy is a player, unless he's hiding a lot of information from you, never really tells you where he's going or what he's doing and doesn't take interest in what you are doing. But looking purely based on your situation, I can't tell he's a player because I don't know what do you know about him, what sort of person he is, how long you've known him etc.

Having said that, my gut is more inclined to the feeling that he ain't a boyfriend who's in for a good relationship. I don't know how much this will help, I was exactly in the same position as you a few months ago. This guy lives in a different town also talked to me for quite a while and seems really sweet in the beginning just like your guy, and also likes to flirt with me. I had my doubts in the beginning but started getting into him and all after a while. He was quite a nice guy in the beginning until just 2 weeks ago, he made me realized that he wants me for sex. All I'm saying is that, they may seem nice to us and all now, but they are just patiently waiting for sex with us after all, regardless whether he likes us or not (coz the fact is that usually they are just not really into us or any girls). Only time can tell, but ask yourself has he stripped himself naked in webcam, has he asked you to show him your breasts etc recently. Just be careful, especially you are a young and possibly hot girl :) x

Most people think of the term "player" in a bad connotation. Personally, I think most players aren't as bad as people make them out to be.. The real issue that people have with players is that you could be "used" and "forgotten" in a manor of days, but isn't that the same way in a regular relationship? Additionally, normally relationships rarely give you complete feelings of satisfaction that you would feel with a player. Player relationships are typically spontaneous, adventurous, fun, respectful, etc.. But that's just the way I view the player relationship, I don't really see a reason why so many people hate them. All sounds nice and dandy, but it ultimately boils down to your own personal desires.

As for spotting a player:

- They take action even when they are faced with bad odds.

- They rarely, if ever, act nervous

- They butter you up (Compliments: E.g. "babe" "beautiful" "sexy" "hun" etc)

- They are a lot of fun to be around

And the biggest indicator - You can almost never find a good reason to push them out of your life, that doesn't leave you looking bad.

You know what? It's never a bad idea to trust your intuition. I'm beginning to see ituition as an amazing personal and transgenerational data bank of experiences. Your intuition has flagged subtle signs that this out of town guy is not being completely honest about his intentions, you should consider listening to what your inner voice is saying about this guy.
